Hello wise mamas. DS (2 mo) and I have a mild case of thrush. The only symptom he has is a white coating on his tongue. I took him to the doc to confirm the thrush and she told me that it was mild and I could probably kick it with probiotics--massive doses for me (over 100 billion organisms a day) and a little bit on my nipple during feedings for DS. The probiotics have made the breast pain I had go away, but DS still has the white coating. I started taking GSE (grapefruit seed extract) at mealtimes 2 days ago. Is there anything else I should do? My probiotics run out tomorrow; should I continue with them? (They're pretty expensive...) Should I use gentian violet on DS or is probiotics and GSE enough? How long should it take to get rid of the yeast??
