taste of GSE vs. gentian violet

So I think I need to apply something to DS's mouth for the thrush. Dr. Newman's webpage suggests grapefruit seed extract, but I've been taking it myself for the past couple of days and that stuff tastes like bile. It's horrible. How can I put that in my baby's mouth?! Does anyone know what gentian violet tastes like? Would it be more paletable for DS?

GSE was horrible. There is no way I think a baby could tolerate it unless it was very, very diluted it.

Have you been putting probiotic powder in her mouth?

Yeah, that's what I thought too...
I have been putting the probiotic powder on my nipples before nursing him. But maybe I'll try doing the GSE protocol with probiotics instead--probiotics in the mouth once an hour for every waking hour. Do you think that would work? It just seems that what I'm doing now isn't doing anything for that white coating on the tongue (though the probiotics seems to have cleared up the yeast in my ducts as far as I can tell from the absence of pain).
