I thought of one more thing.... Benji pretty much always did 8-9 feedings a day even in the early days. Bella does no less than 10-11 feedings a day. Do you think the frequency could be a factor, too? Bella feeds for MUCH longer, feeds much harder, and eats more often than Benji. Maybe, I am just comparing the two in terms of comfort. Maybe, I also forgot that Benji hurt.... Who knows? It isn't nearly as bad as it was though!

Well, I guess I can join here now too. Lewis will be 24 hrs in 1 hr. He is a Great nurser. My milk came in already yesterday morning. He had nursed ALL night before that. Now he's just nurses, sleeps and poops. Last night I actually got 8 hrs of sleep. I feel wonderful now. I haven't been near as sore as I was with DD. She was born early and it took her a while to latch on right too.
The early stage of Labor this time was easier then last. Maybe because I could move around the whole time. I had DD in the hospital and we had an hr drive there. The pushing was Way harder this time. I had an epis. with DD. It's been so nice to not be sore from stiches. I feel way better now then I did after DD.
My DD is SO BIG now. For the last 2 nights she's stayed at Grandpa and Grandma's, but she's coming home tonight. I miss her. She's been ignoring me and Lewis when she sees us, but she asks for me all day. Poor girl. My SIL is coming to help me out with her for a couple of days. That will be nice.
Sounds like I need to go take care of Lewis now.

Thought I would revitalize this thread as the babies are starting to roll in!
Sam is on day 3 of his life outside the womb and he is a nursing champ! My milk came in this morning and my nipples are a little sore (since he has been sucking pretty much non-stop for almost 3 days) - but all is well!
Things I learned with baby #2:
Just because your first birth was quick and easy does not necessarily mean your other births will be that way.
The "gaskin maneuver" really does work to get the baby's shoulders dislodged
little baby penises (intact) look like pinky fingers
poo is WAY easier to clean off boy parts
after pains are a b*&ch! But motrin and arnica are doing a good job of keeping me mostly pain-free...
Things I forgot:
That great newborn smell
How soft baby skin is
How sticky meconium poo is
How it is entirely possible to go 3 days with maybe 3 total hours of sleep
How you can spend all day just staring at your baby in complete awe and love
How much newborns nurse
How much newborns sleep
How HUGE my milk filled breasts can get!

Agreed. I am trying really hard to cope with my dissappointment in myself for having a medicated hospital birth after 2 homebirths.
But it is what it is, each pregnancy, each labor, each baby is different and I just have to trust that things turned out how they were supposed to. *sigh*Haven will be four days old in a few hours. It is going by too fast. She is already changing and it is breaking my heart. I wasn't sure if she would be my last or not, but I'm deciding she can't possibly be. I am addicted to that baby smell.
