Oh yeah, sending labor vibes your way!!! Hopefully you can avoid an induction by going on your own.

PAM IS IN LABOR
pam (Granny's Ark or apmamaoftwins) just called me....

SHE'S HAVING THE BABY!!!

she went for her Biophysical profile and appointment, and for various reason they decided that it was best to induce her tonight. (nothing wrong, just being cautious i think) They started her on Pitocin and she is waiting around for something to happen... so tonight or tommorrow little mason will be HERE! Wish her easy labor vibes and that she gets to have the VBAC she wants. If you have a pending order with her, please be paitent..she's a little tied up for a few days

I had my daughter, Jessie, on Sunday at home. She weighed 11 lbs 6 ozs and was 24.5" long, although I think she is a little shorter than that actually. I wasn't sure if I could actually do a homebirth, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to if there was meconium in the water. As it turns out my water broke, there was meconium but I elected to stay at home and things went well. I know that if I had gone to the hospital I would have had the epidural, and was even thinking that. I remember telling my doula at one point that this whole natural birth thing was for the birds. LOL I was so happy it was over, but even a few hours later things had faded enought that I was thinking "Hey, that wasn't so bad." It was totally worth it too! My first daughter was taken away to be suctioned because of meconium and by the time I got to hold her she was a washed and wrapped bundle. Getting to hold her fresh from the womb, still attached to the placenta inside of me was incredible, and I got to cut the cord myself. I was happy to be home after it was all over with because my bed was so much more comfortable, and the baby slept well. Anyway, just thought I'd share my news since I hadn't officially announced it anywhere.

newbie

hi,
i thought i'd join this thread. i'm fat and pregnant and happy with both right now...i gained 25 lbs with ds and never lost it, despite eating well and bf. o well, now i'm bigger, and will worry about losing all the weight when i'm done having babies. that way i'll get some use out of those expensive plus size clothes, right, lol.

OMG Kathy-Jo, I am in near hysterics after seeing the update post for me and Amywillow. lol If anyone out there is trying to decide between a hospital and a home birth, they should be shown that post. I am so jealous that Amy go to hold her baby with all the gooy stuff still on her. But, just the same I was and am quite happy with the way my birth experience went all things considered (I'm a type I diabetic and was induced at 38w7d because my bp was a little high and I had a +1 urine protein). I don't think there is anything more miraculous feeling than hearing that first cry, which I did. Thank god they didn't knock me out...
