A couple people have requested this list that I'd made up, and I figure it can be useful to many. I actually will be putting this on my fridge because when my brain is mush from getting no sleep it is helpful to have something to look at. Feel free to add your own ideas please- eating well while nursing and caring for an infant REALLY helps your mentality.

More Ideas:
If you're feeling crummy try keeping a food diary for a few days with the food you eat and drink, and the time eaten. This can make you aware of what you're eating, whether you're getting a variety of foods, and can help you eat better and not skip meals or snacks.
Snacks that include protein or fiber will give you longer lasting energy than sugary snacks.
When you make a snack, make extras for later.
Prepare items ahead of time such as cut veggies, sliced cheese, tuna or chicken salads
If you need more calories add oil or butter to most dishes. Avacado is also a healthy high calorie food.
Make big batches of smoothies (add protein powder if needed) then pour them into individual plastic bottles. Freeze, then take one or two out in the evening for the next day- easy to drink while nursing.
Make a pureed soup that can be drunk out of a mug, like cream-of tomato or spinach, or similar.
Try to eat before you're famished, it will keep your blood sugar even, which helps your immune system and makes life easier to deal with in general.
Keep snacks in your diaper bag, by your bed, by your nursing chair, in your car……
Drink plenty of water- keep a water bottle with you- flavor with lemon, lime, tea bags, or electrolyte mix if plain water is too boring.
