I think it's time!

We're headed to the hospital now! I'll post again when we return, hopefully with Savannah Hailee on the outside!

***UPDATED***
My labor seemed to be progressing nicely, until we left for the hospital. I was stressed out about leaving my daughter and about the hospital in general, and once we got there contractions stopped coming regularly. We were sent to walk for an hour with no change, and my midwife strongly recommended that we stay and induce. I held my ground and said that I was NOT comfortable with that, and after being monitored and checked for leaking fluid and dilation (she stripped my waters I think, too) I lost my plug in the bathroom. That was kind of exciting. Since then I've been seeing lots of mucous and brown blood, and have some pretty intense contractions - though not regular.

We had to go for a sono as soon as we were done in the hospital to check fluid levels, and Savannah is doing wonderfully in there. Midwife said "Will you be ready to make a decision at your appointment on Wed.?" and I said yes...knowing that my decision is to hold off all induction until Saturday, when I reach 42 weeks. This way, if something should happen to cause a repeat c-section, I will feel no regrets about inducing too early.

Anyway, just wanted to update. Wish I was home with my new babe on the outside!! I'm incredibly nauseated and uncomfortable, and didn't sleep more than 3 hours so I'm off to bed. Thanks for the well-wishes, and cross your fingers that labor starts and continues on it's own soon!

I just don't think I can do this anymore...I've been having horribly intense contractions all day long (and intense ones for 2 days before this) and have been up all night long for three nights...tonight is terrible, I can't get any rest because they just keep coming every ten minutes...

I'm beginning to think that if we have to go back, I'm going to be begging for an epidural, and I know that if I wasn't so exhausted and in so much pain I'd never want that. I feel like I'm not myself and that I'm losing control.

I just want this over...oh god, I really just want this over.

Oh mama...hang in there. I know what it's like to have birth plans go sideways. You are an amazing and STRONG woman and you need to trust yourself and do what YOU need to do. If that means getting the epi then that's okay...it doesn't mean you've given up or given in. It doesn't mean you wont have a beautiful VBAC. It just means you decided to make use of a comfort tool after days of labor. You know the risks of that comfort tool, and you can ask about options (like a spinal, since that will wear off after 3-4 hours and may be enough time for a good solid nap, or a dissociative like fentanyl if you respond well to those), but you are the one birthing this babe and you are in charge.

You've already shown how strong you are, so hang in there and soon (SOON!) you'll be holding that babe!
