FP3 Player

Anyone have an FP3 player? Thoughts on it? I'm thinking of getting one for my oldest to listen to during an upcoming trip (while on the airplane). When we are home listening time will be limited.

I looked into that for my son's fourth birthday, and ended up deciding on the iPod shuffle for him. I bought a refurbished older model from apple.com for $29 and he LOVES it. I load it up with all his favorite music and have a great way to entertain him when we are stuck in a boring (to him) situation. It's pretty tough, I don't think it's any more destructible than the FP3, and it'll last him longer (who outgrows iPods?) The headphones that come with it aren't the best for little ones so I bought him some different headphones. Also, you can program it to have a low maximum volume so they can't kill their ears.

My mom got this for my DS. He likes it a lot. It's a pretty good toy. The cabling on the headphones which connects to the player is the same as normal headphones so that aspect of it is not particularly rugged. But overall it is very easy to use, you can download more songs from the FP site, and DS likes it a lot and it gives him something to do when we're running errands.

DD, almost 4, got this for Christmas. She loves it, and it was great way to entertain her on a recent plane trip. We downloaded lots of music and stories on it for her to listen to. What I like about the FP3 as opposed to the iPod is that you can also download pictures that correspond with the songs and stories, that way you little one (assuming he can't read) can find the songs he/she is looking for without your help. That's a particulary useful feature when I'm driving in the car and DD is listening to her music.
