My mom gets this magazine for me and I act grateful. Wasn't this the one that had a huge spread about NIP and how difficult it is to find anywhere comfortable to nurse a child while out and about? Or was that Parents? I get them confused, but I was impressed! They showed a mom in different locations throughout the day--bookstore, restaurant, park--and how hard it was for her to find space and people who wouldn't stare at her while NIP. One picture was of her in a restaurant booth and the lady in the booth in front of her was totally leaning out into the aisle to see what she was doing. When she was sitting on a park bench, a teenager even took her picture on his cellphone while she nursed her child--right in front of her DH! : I liked that it really showed her perspective.

I would really like to see that NIP article. When magazine and month/issue was it?

I'm sorry--I recycled it as soon as I finished it. I really don't like the magazine.... I should have torn out that article, though.

It was either Parents or Parenting, and it was the most recent month that was just delivered to homes. I'm sorry I can't be more specific.

One of the other mainstream parenting magazines had an article recently about night weaning your toddler. Without any mention of the fact that it might be unusal to still be nursing at all. I was impressed. (They are in the bathroom at work, I didn't buy it, I swear! )

i think American Baby had the cover of a woman nursing... maybe that was the mag you are thinking of?

I can't stand Parenting Magazine. In fact, I really can't stand all of the mainstream parenting magazines out there. They are so full of misinformation and ignorant advice.

But that quote actually shocked me. I can't believe that they would print that. You know?

I hate them too. My mom bought the subscriptions for me as a gift, so I don't tell her how I really feel about them. I like the funny stories about what kids say, and sometimes they have good articles, but mostly I just roll my eyes as I'm flipping through them.

It definitely was not American Baby. It was either Parents or Parenting. But no one on here reads them, so I'm not surprised no one knows what I'm talking about and has them laying around the house!

July's Parents magazine.

It had mis information in there about the age to which one should bf though. I sent in an email about it, I've yet to hear if they are going to clarify in the August issue or not. I hope they do.
