I'd fly away-free......

Sighed Mayzie, a (lazy) bird hatching an egg:
"I'm tired and I'm bored
And I've kinks in my leg
From sitting, just sitting here day after day.
It's work! How I hate it!
I'd much rather play!
I'd take a vacation, fly off for a rest
If I could find someone to stay on my nest!

If I could find someone, I'd fly away-free....."

Thanks Dr. Seuss......

Perhaps Dr. Seuss is really a tired stay at home mom with several young children. My son was quite confused when I started to cry while reading this at nap time today, yet it really seemed to hit home........

Hmm, the quality of my reading material these days.:

Okay, Okay... I ate some chocolate and am much better. But Dr. Seuss is still right on track.

"...NO!
That's not for you.

Somehow you'll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.

With banner flip-flapping,
once more you'll ride high!"

Which Dr. Seuss best sums up your day??

I am sort of dealing with both today. Ds has Croup, dh and I are exhausted and money is currently a big issue. We are stressed, but loving being parents. I definitely know the, "I just want to sit here and cry but I don't even have time for that right now" feeling. Hang in there and thank you for posting the poem, it also made me get quite a feeling in my gut.

Oh yes... *So* know about the "Maisie Syndrome".

My DH and I have a running joke... "We'll ____ when we're dead."

"I'm tired."
"Why don't you take a nap?"
"Eh, I don't have time. I can sleep when I'm dead."

"Man, I can't believe we haven't tiled the backsplash yet!"
"Yeah - well, we can tile when we're dead."

"I need to register the car."
"We can register it when we're dead."

OK, we have a sick sense of humor. We like to pretend we're old Jewish ladies, :LOL Must be our puritanical New England upbringing.
