~Weekly Thread June 26th- THE END?~

Heyla all!

So it looks like we're having a baby boomlette! Happy birthing and gentle labor to all the mamas who still have their beautiful baby bellies...and happy babymoon to those mamas who have floppy bellies but are holding their beautiful babes on the outside.

So how is everyone doing? Hanging on? Enjoying (or suffering through) the laast few days or weeks of pregnancy? Ready to drop kick the next person who asks "are you STILL pregnant?"?

good luck all!

(and don't forget to look for the June 07 thread in the Life with a Babe forum too...let's keep this party going!)

I can't believe I've made it to this week with no baby. Will I even have a June baby?? June or July I guess it doesn't matter.

Going in for a U/S & NST today. I know it'll be ok, but it'll be nice to have it over. If no baby by Thursday, I'll be getting my membranes stripped. I was really hoping that acupuncture yesterday did the trick.

I am literally avoiding the phone & doing certain things b/c I cannot bear the thought of dealing with questions. I will drop kick (well at least mentally) the next person who says anything stupid to me.

I went 42 weeks 3 days with dd1 so I know those stupid comments by heart! I was sooooo hoping dd2 would come early that it made her "feel" late even though she was just a few days after my due date. It's so hard at the end...

Good luck at your check...

My tests seemed to go ok (don't have the U/S results but the tech seemed to think that everything was ok). He did really well in his NST, so they'll let me wait it out a bit longer. He had the hiccups which were really loud. Funny! I am 90% effaced & a little over 1cm dilated. Baby has dropped a little but is still high. Back on Friday for another NST & possibly a membrane sweep. We discussed chemical induction, but we can wait on that until at least next week. A lot can happen in a week, right?

We're making progress & Ian seems fine. He is so smooshed in there though. He was sucking his thumb during the U/S. Too cute. Practice your sucking baby!!

vannienicole- sorry your Mom is being such a drag. Hang in there. A lot could happen between now & Saturday. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Had an appointment with my midwife today, and my due date is in two days. I'm figuring this baby is going to decide to be a July baby rather than a June baby, which I'm fine with, I just wish I could get a little more comfortable! I have an U/S and NST scheduled for next week, at 41 weeks. I really hope she comes before then!
If this baby follows my first two, s/he will be here on Sunday. Although, I think it might be sooner...who knows???

Oh wombat, go change that title!! only til the end of june! many mamas are just due this days and many will probably reach july, but i bet we'll keep hanging out in the june ddc

hugs everyone, let's hang in there together and trust in our babies

My telephone is officialy not being answered anymore and I don't care about what anxious people think. that's it.

vannienicole hugs . Try to use these days to really turn inside and connect with your baby and talk to him. Who knows...

nice vibes to all mamas

Actually...I meant till the end of the June DDC mamas having babies...not the end of the month! I certainly hope everyone stays here regardless of when they deliver since we've shared so much of the trip together I can't imagine the picture on the calendar making a difference!
I'm planning on sticking around in the June DDC, that's where my due date is regardless of when the baby comes!

So I don't know how many mamas have wandered away over the months, but we have 155 mamas on the due date list and 67 mamas holding little ones in the birth announcement thread.

yay for babies yay for mamas!

I don't think I ever added myself to the due date list. My babe is still inside. Maybe this weekend?

So, here we still sit . I have decided that the baby is going to arrive next week while my mw is at Family Scout Camp. Even though she is only two towns away, and says she'll get my message and be at my house in 20 minutes or so, I imagine Murphy's law will make her cell phone reception so crappy that she'll never get my message and we'll end up UCing. Which, really, I'm pretty okay with.

Had another NST today, everything is fine. Plus I had by membranes swept, it was a much shorter procedure than I thought but was rather uncomfortable. We discussed a game plan for the next week. Biophysical profile on Sunday, Monday another NST & will try some Castor Oil. I actually starting taking this herb mix today, Christopher's Prenatal. I'm hoping that something will jump start labor.

At least my MWs will let me go until 42w6d before inducing so that gives me another 9 days to get this boy out w/out using Cervadil & being admitted to the hospital. Ultimately, as long as we try all the "natural" routes, I will try to be ok with whatever happens. At least my MWs are really working with me to make this happen naturally.

I'm so cranky now though. I had to cancel social plans on Sunday for the U/S. Then my Aunt called to check on me when I had told her that I would call her. Like, back off.....I said I would call you. I am definitely cranky. Off to nap.....Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Not in your due date club, but just wanted to inform you and others that Cytotec is CONTRAINDICATED in pg!!! If anyone's dr. wants to use it, ask for Cervidil instead. Good luck to you lingering June mamas!

So my Aunt told me today what SIL has been saying about my PG (she keeps calling her to see if I had the baby). It's so ridiculous that it's laughable. 1st, she thinks I am definitely going to have a C-section. Not unless there's a good reason for it, like an emergency. 2nd, she thinks we're waiting too long to have the baby. Like, I'm not getting medical care?? I'm sure she's saying other stuff too. I wish she'd say this stuff to me, then I'd have license to comment on her less than perfect prenatal & postnatal care.

My SIL smoked during both of her pregancies (& continues to smoke on her kids), had 2 unnecessary planned C-sections, never even considered breastfeeding & feeds her kid junk food thinks she knows best. What a joke. I can't wait to tell her about my drug-free water birth. Why does she even care about what I'm doing??

So has anyone read the recent article on BF laws in the US in Mothering magazine? Scary stuff. I live in PA & they have no laws at all, in fact I think I could conceivably be arrested for indecent exposure for BFing in public. DH thinks the solution is to cover up. Sorry, but I just don't go for that. I think most Moms are pretty darn discreet.

meanwhile, he hasnt stopped moving since the u/s and im freaking out!

HOLY SH!T!!! I either just had a MASSIVE contraction or he flipped or i dont know! HOLY SH!T that was some serious discomfort...had to get up! OMG!

Hi! It's me again, from the July board. I'm also in the Poconos. I didn't know that about PA laws!!! I've ALWAYS NIP, and never (and WILL NEVER) cover up! Wow, that's horrible! I'll have to get involved in trying to change that.

Hey, good luck June mamas, who have yet to have your babies!

MomsRising often has info on breastfeeding activism... along with other mama focused issues. You can check them out at http://www.momsrising.org/

I'm lucky to be in NY where women can nurse in public and employers are required (thanks to recent legislation) to allow nursing women to use break time to pump. But even here in a very crunchy town there are occassional problems...mamas hassled in parks for nursing, or store owners asking mamas to use the fitting rooms or restrooms.
