OK, the draconian hospital where I'm giving birth does not allow eating or drinking during labor AT ALL save for ice chips. What are some good sneaky snacks I can hide?

Granola bars
Fruit like apples and bananas
Premade PB&J sandwiches
Pretzels
Water bottles
Juice boxes
Nuts/seed mixes/trail mix
All of the above don't need refrigerating so will last several hours still be fine to eat. You can always say it's snacks for DH, who will be getting hungry if things go on for a while. Such a silly policy, that whole no-eating thing.

I have my hospital bag loaded with protein, energy & fruit bars. I was totally uninterested in food when I was laboring with dd, but I told dh he can sneak me bites of "his" bars if I want.

I would take things you wouldn't necessarily mind coming back up again if you get sick during labor.
I'm planning to bring a couple packs of peanut butter crackers, a couple of Nutrigrain bars, and bottles of water. (I'll be sneaking food, too! No way am I going without eating for 12 hours!)

My OB just read some new study about eating during induced labor (eating = good), so she says I can be her guinea pig.
Yay, food for me! She wouldn't normally be against it anyway, because she doesn't fully knock people out for emergency c-sections, and being put under completely is where the danger of asperating would be.
Dh has packed himself several kinds of granola bars and some yogurt. If these period crampy contractions are anywhere close to the real thing, then I can't imagine wanting to eat much anyway, but I think he'll share if I ask.

Even the anesthesiologists are saying that at least clear fluids should be allowed... gee, you think that hospitals would at least agree to that. I know that's my big thing... it's not really hunger more than thirst... and ice chips just don't cut it for me.

My labor was in the middle of totally stalling out. My ob let me eat dinner thinking it might stall it out for good, and I think I agree with that study! My contractions got further apart, but, boy, they get a lot stronger! About an hour later, I was thinking I was going to throw EVERYTHING up! I did get dinner and an apricot before I was taken off food again. Mmm.... Apricots are my favorite now. We brought in a cooler bag loaded with fruit for me if allowed, and we brought a whole bunch of snacks for dh and mom.- Food to Sneak at the Hospital
