I could really use some prayers and positive thoughts.

I went into labor at 12:45am Sunday with my contractions starting at 2 minutes apart. We headed to my mom's at 8:00am and I got in the jacuzzi tub. By the time the mw got there I was already pushing. I pushed all day and all night and the baby will not come down. Then the contractions stopped and have not started back. The mw is still here with me and my vitals and the baby's are fine. I'm taking things to prevent infection since my water has been broken for a day and a half now. I haven't eaten since Sunday and only had one hour of sleep that night so I'm exhausted. I said that I would leave at 11:00 today to go for a c-sec, but I ate a few grapes, took a nap and now I feel great. So, I have to decide to either go through a second labor (which is just so not fair) or go for a c-sec. I am really scared to death to go for a c-sec and since we couldn't find a doc to back the mw I will have to say that I have not had any prenatal care and then I'll be treated poorly. I also won't have any say in vax and such since we use a naturopath.

I appreciate all the love and support from all of you and I hope you will continue to keep sweet pea and me in your thoughts and prayers.

oh mama!

I hope you find a happy/healthy birth no matter what.

If you go to hospital can you say you just moved to the area and don't have your medical paperwork yet? Just say your water broke and you haven't labored yet? Would they treat you better? Ugh...what a "not choice" though.

Sometimes there's areason a babe wont move down (like fibroids). Does your midwife have any ideas?

hang in there...and may your birth be peaceful and soon!

I'm so sorry! I'm definitely thinking of you, Shannon. Doesn't seeing a mw count as prenatal care?

Sending love and positive, peaceful labor vibes your way. I can really empathize with you about having to go through a second labor (I've been having mini-labors of 5-6 hours at a time at night with horribly intense contractions, for 3 nights).

Please let us know how you are doing. My thoughts are with you and your little one!

Just so you won't worry about it, you DO have a say in vaccinations. It doesn't matter one bit if you have had prenatals or a ped or anything. You have the unalienable right as a parent to say "NO." They may try to harrass you, but they legally cannot vax your child without your consent and signature. Practice saying "No, thank you." firmly and politely. No matter what they try to guilt trip you with, you can still say no.

I will send good thoughts your way. I am sorry you are going through this.

Genomics- I think since the mw did not have OB backup she would be in trouble if she was identified. So mrsalf97 can't tell the hospital staff without risking her mw. In NY a mw can attend homebirths only if an OB provides back up...in many regions of NY though no OB will provide that service and all homebirth mw's have to deliver "under the radar". I'm guessing that this is what is going on here.

Mrsalf97- I hope you're holding your beautiful babe!
