I seriously don't have a name yet!

Advice wanted Please!!! I thought we had a name and then I decided I didn't really like it. It's OK for a fallback, but it's just not "it". Anything else I have suggested, dh has nixed. We aren't really "edgy" with names...the fallback is Hayleigh and I really like Addison (long before Grey's Anatomy), but dh doesn't.

One name we like and keep writing off is Chloe because our last name starts with Kl, which makes me think she'll be destined to be a stripper. What do you all think?

TIA!!

I don't think you need to diss Chloe because your last name starts with a "Kl" sound... will have nice alliteration.

I'm in the same boat! *I* have a girls name, but dh doesn't love it.
*He* has a boys name, but I won't agree to it at all.
ps, I'm due this weekend... yikes!
Hopefully we will both see our babies and then just know what to name them.

(I love Addison as that is my son's name.. Isaac Addison.. I enjoy it for a girl, too... and nobody had ever heard of it when I had him.. I found it on a stack of old papers as in circa 1800's)

Nicole, we don't have a name picked out yet either. But I think that's OK. IME, people usually are called to name their baby a particular name upon seeing and feeling them after the birth. Sometimes it takes a few days.

In most states though you do have a window of time before you have to file a birth certificate (in NM it's 10 days) and if you still haven't come up with a name you can usually write in "baby girl" and then amend it later.

You shouldn't stress about the name Chloe/last name thing. There's a good chance she will get married when she grows up and will end up with a different last name anyway. If you like it don't let your last name keep you from using it.

Thanks for the input. It's nice to have someone other than dh to bounce names off of!

We haven't chosen a name and have barely begun making a list of "possibles". We'll wait and see which of the names on our list seem to fit the baby after it comes. No hurry.
