Where's my 40+ weekers!?!

I know there's some of us here...I copied this from the roll call thread...

AmBam~June 26th (predicting early July)
2much2luv~June 26th (predicting July 3rd)
springbabes~June 28th
mirthfulmum~June 29th (predicting July 1st)
javamama~late June/early July
aileen~June 29th to July 2nd
nova22~June 30th

So there are some of us over 40 weeks and some of us dangerously close. I think there are a couple of you who have delivered, but I'm not good with names so I have to go back and look.

I'm 40w1d and shouldn't be surprised that I'm still preggy. I guess, I've just been secretly hoping this one would be different! So anyway...if your out there, how are you doing? How are you feeling? Any predictions on when you might be holding your babe!??

Hey! I'm right here with ya, hangin' on to baby and totally secretly wishing this time could be different. I'm feeling really good and predict it will be another week at least. I just hope not much longer than a week!!!

Yeah!! I knew I wasn't alone! I don't know if you have heard me babble my story before, but my last baby was 42w1d and weighed over 10 lbs. It wouldn't have been a big deal except we ended up with a really bad shoulder dystocia and it really really scared me. It was very tramatic. So....this time I've had mixed emotions on what to do. I switched to a new midwife and I feel very confident in her. She is very good at natural inductions and has said she'll do it any time I'm ready but I'm just not ready to commit to that. As bad as I want baby here...I'm just not big on induction...natural or not...ya know?? So for now, I'm telling myself that my baby and my body will go when they are good and ready and even if it is another ten pounder doesn't mean we'll have shoulder dystocia...right??? Reasure me please! I'm just trying to think positive and talk to baby everyday. I do hope he/she is ready soon.

Do any of you have big babies past dates? Have you always been 40+ weekers? Anyone have a similar situation at all? I've been looking around and have heard positive stories of SD and then future births with out...so I'm hoping... It was just a really scary experience.

Anyway... I better get to bed. I will check in tomorrow. Good luck ladies. Hopefully soon!!

Hi AmBam! Saw you over here and thought I'd say 'hi' and give you my support!
Hang in there, baby will be in your arms soon!

Me too, me too!

According to my charts I should be due the 7th or 8th of July but the December ultrasound said today! So, like you, here I sit, wondering what to do with myself. I've been sleeping a lot. It's been raining whoa..... babies head is just moving down very dramatically right now, could this be it?
Dh has promised for months to build a cradle and only last night did he start so I'm hoping this baby will hold on a little longer.

Anyone else can't sleep?
Anyone else have to pee like every 5 minutes?
Anyone else getting sick of the phonecalls asking if anything has happened?

Hey Vera! Thanks!! I'm getting so impatient!

Pillowhead~ Um...yeah...can't sleep, do have pee every ten seconds and why is everyone calling to ask if I "feel anything" yet?? Like I'm gonna call everyone when I go into labor anyway!: Everyone keeps asking if I have any "signs" of labor...Hmmm...NO!! I've never gotten any signs before, it just happens!

I really would love/need a good massage and the earliest I could get in was Monday. I really do hope I'll have to cancel by then, but it does sound so lovely!!

We have lots of plans this weekend so hopefully baby will arrive and change all that. I don't care what's planned at this point, I just want to hold my baby! Hang in there ladies. It's sure to happen soon, right!?

Not quite yet, but I am 40 weeks this weekend so I might as well say hi. My first was 40 wks 5 days and I am kind of hoping for a full moon baby on Saturday, but not holding my breath. Feeling pretty good, but more and more tired each day, feeling like I have to pee constantly, and my feet and ankles are really swollen (bp is good and no other scary symptoms though. I'm getting so excited to meet this one!!!

I'm not quite there either, but due July 2nd. Last time I was past 42 weeks, but I'm hoping to go sooner this time. I feel much more relaxed this time around, so I htink that'll help.
i can't sleep at all. between bathroom breaks and trying to get comfortable i get maybe an hour at a time. my midwife said i can take Calmes Forte which helps a bit. luckily i'm not getting as many phone calls this time. my son was 40w6d but i was sick and had SROM and a stalled labor so who knows how long he would have cooked.

Maybe I should be posting this in the weekly forum but are any of you taking arnica as a precautionary measure? It's good for shocks and can be started daily at around 38 weeks. It should help in post-partum healing, I hope. I have also taken a bit of Aconite when i'm feeling jumpy antsy. A friend lent me her homeopathic birth kit and i'm already really enjoying it!
I don't know much about homeopathics and birth- Aconite sounds familiar what is it for? And I have arnica, but hadn't thought to take it ahead of time....to help with healing after the birth?
I'm almost there!! I'm *due* either tomorrow, or Sunday.
My first was induced because I was uneducated and tired of prodromal labor. My original date with him was Oct. 10th. He was born Sept. 24th at 8lbs 7.5 oz. Dates off or bigger baby? Who knows.
My second was induced at 36.6 weeks b/c of pre-eclampsia. I had been on bedrest with her since 28 weeks. 7lbs 13.5oz baby
I have never gone into labor and had a baby on my own. Hence the determination on having a homebirth this time!
I've been having ctx since last evening that are around 10 minutes. They aren't getting closer yet, but are for sure getting more intense. Dh is scared I will wait too long and he'll be stuck not knowing what to do with a placenta.. does he put it in a bowl, lay it on a towel, hold it in his hands... this is the scariest part for him!
I'm ready, but not since it's our last.

IamPink ~ I think it's funny your dh is worried about what to do with the placenta!! My dh would freak if he had to do anything with anything. He sooooooo wants the mw to make it on time!! I really hope those ctx are getting you somewhere!! Good luck mama!

pillowhead~ No arnica yet. My last mw used arnica oil for my perineal massage to prevent tearing and swelling. My mw now hasn't mentioned it, other than she'll have it on hand at the birth.

Ok, gotta go. Hello to everyone else! My dh is sleeping on the trampoline with all the kiddos so I get the bed all to myself!! That never happens so I'll take advatage of it tonight. Maybe I'll make some popcorn and watch a movie!!
So... of those of us "at term" now only 2 have popped? I'm really not doing at thing and sort of getting tired of myself. And I'm one day past due: Silly due dates!
Due dates are very silly.

I'm still here! Pretty much assuming I'm going to go into labor on Tuesday-ish of next week (41 weeks like all my others). So if I don't have a baby by Wednesday night I'll start to get very grumpy.
Yeah- fooey on due dates. I think we'd both be shocked if I actually had this baby on mine. Dh has a meeting scheduled Monday as well as an hour away trip he'll be making. He will of course have his cell phone.

ETA- I think three have had their babies- Javamama had hers abit early if I'm not mistaken?
I'm 40 weeks either today or tomorrow! (depending on which of my midwives you ask...) As of last Wednesday I was 75% effaced and 3cm dilated. I've been having contractions (some really intense ones too) off and on for about a week now, but nothing regular yet. I figure, at this rate, I'll be 4-5 cm dilated by the time I actually go into active labour which is just fine with me

I think this is just how my body does it... because I had a lot of prodromal labour with dd and a really short active labour. I'm assuming the same will happen this time, given how long I've been having intense (though irregular) contractions this time. I've even had some that built up to a peak and that I couldn't walk through, but definitely not more than two or three in a row before they stopped.

love and peace.

Yeah...if I ever do this again, I don't even want to know my due date...Is there anyway to lie to MYSELF??? I'm pretty good at lying to everyone else about my due date, but not sure I could trick myself!! I swear it's torture the last week or so.

But...ya know...it is a full moon tonight?? Do ya think that will put any of us in? My mw said she's been thinking about it all week...hopefully it will!!

Ok, off to straighten up the house before I head to bed in case tonight is "the night"!

Thinking about you ladies! You were my due date sisters! Things didn't work out the way I planned--- third induction at 37 weeks . I am a little bit sad about never having that "is this it?" kind of feeling, but my birth was wonderful and the sweet 3 week old in my arms is priceless!

Hang in there! I'm watching for your birth stories. Just wanted to send some s your way!
