If you freeze your bone broth in quart canning jars....

how much head room do you have to leave? Apparantly, I didn't leave enough since I just found my cracked quart jar in the freezer and had to trash it. Luckily, I left 2 more quarts in the refrigerator!

thanks

I leave an inch and a half of head room, and I always make sure to leave the lid off the jar until it is frozen solid.

I've also had cracking if I put the stock in too warm. Let it cool completely in the fridge first and then transfer to the freezer to alleviate this.

Yeah, I cool mine in jars in the fridge, remove the congealed fat, and then freeze. I leave about 2 inches of head room, but I'm usually overly-careful when freezing because I've had too many disasters
