my last day of work was the 16th and i'm bored out of my mind waiting for baby. we have a really small living space and i don't think i can clean or organize anything else. i'm trying to keep busy with my son but there's only so much one can do on a tight budget. i really need to do something to keep my mind off the wait. it's really starting to get to me. what are you doing to pass the time?

I found the perfect spot in the backyard today for dd's kiddy pool so that I can pull a chair up to it, sit & read for hours without getting sunburnt. I think I'll start in on the last Harry Potter novel tomorrow after my OB appointment. She's in preschool from 8:30 - 3:30 for the rest of this week (goes to half days after the 1st), so I've been spending much of my time catching up on the sleep that I miss at night.

I too am twiddling my thumbs waiting. I spend the AMs pulling the house back in order from the chaos of family like, but then the afternoons get long. Evening are OK. DH is home and I'll hide away with a book or a movie, but I am generally unproductive. Which isn't like me at all. I intended to get the kids out each day to do free activiteis: library, playground, throwing oennies in the community fountain, open swim at the YMCA, and a walk by the lake. But it's been too hot and I have been too lazy to follow through! So my kids are stir crazy to boot. I need to stop waiting and plan on staying busy the next 2 weeks.

I'm enjoying getting on this board and reminding myself why I am planning a second homebirth. Its so nice to read so many wonderful natural birth stories here. It helps give me confidence and get prepared mentally for birth.

I went and checked out some books from the library. Not that I have time to read (my 20-month-old has been extra-clingy the past couple of weeks), but that's what I'd do if I did have time!

Well ya'll are just some lucky devils! I am still working M-F...my last day of work is AUGUST 3RD! : That makes me want to CRY. : BUT--I do remember working up until my due date with my 1st dc and then I went 9 days OVER with him, so I'll probably get a good little week or so break at the end (Due July 31st)...hopefully... I'm actually HOPING Baby will come a little early so that I'll get out of here even sooner! BUT, probably not, so I'm not keeping my hopes up...

Our plans for when I am off (if baby doesn't come first!):

Due July 31st
Fri, Aug 3rd: Last day of work, only working 1/2 day, massage, facial & foot relieving pedicure at 2pm! YUMMY.
My big boy starts 1st grade the following Thursday, Aug 9th, so we're going to try to do lots of stuff together while I'm off, before baby comes, before he starts back school...visit the local science center, local waterpark, maybe spend many days at my mom's pool, letting her take care of me while I float around like a beached whale!!

And, hopefully sometime before the end of August I'll have a baby! I'm seriously not expecting this guy to show until August 15-16th... My mom went 16 days over w/ me (she was due Oct. 3rd, I was born the 19th!) and I was her second child... Bray was induced 9 days after his edd and he wasn't FINISHED COOKING, so this one can stay in as long as he needs/wants and I'm going to try not to get my panties in a wad.

Easier said than done, I know!!

I hope all of you mommies expecting babies in the near future have them VERY SOON!!!

but you try showing 5 houses a night when you're as big as me with a messed up foot!

oh yeah and i just took on a new client yesterday, showing her a condo today! i hope i dont go into labor while i'm on an appointment....that would be bad and my OB would get mad at me.....she keeps telling me to slow down but i just can't!

I'm due this weekend and I'm volunteering at the local Rotary Club's annual auction/rummage sale until the babe comes : I do it every year! I sort books (I'm not carrying more than a few at a time though) and there's a bit of walking involved too so hopefully it'll help get things going also

love and peace.

I'm just barely working. Dropping off supplies for the rest of summer programming is the extent of it. Of course my dh is looking at me like this : whenever I talk about work and stuff I still need to do but...um, we need me to work! It's part of my job!

Other than THAT, my ds is sick as a dog and that has been knocking the whole house out. We've been running to doctor appts and pharmacy pickups, etc. He just got so sick that he's having a hard time sleeping and it's kind of a scary preview as to what we'll be facing soon with a wee babe!

Crying.

Well, I'm a little emotional and a good cry each day apparently keeps me sane. lately though, these are all-out sobbing events. Crazy crazy. Other than that, I'm cleaning, trying to maintain the household on a day by day basis so it doesn't get 3 days from clean and then suddenly I'm busy having a baby.....doing a load of laundry every day, that kind of thing. Busywork, really. And feeling sorry for myself that I'm about to miss my sister's wedding.

And every now and then, I sit down and think about the baby. I bet he'll look like Timothy, I just have a feeling he'll look like his oldest brother.

I just folded a load of laundry and noticed that my favorite kitchen towel has a hole in one corner and is beginning to fray. I am actually sitting here mourning the upcoming loss of said towel. I've had it for about 10 years, and I reach for it first among all the clean towels. Ridiculous, I'm sure, but I'm seriously sad about losing it. Sheeesh. I must be pregnant.

Trying to keep up with household chores, reading/napping, and sitting around watching the chickens! Oh, and finishing up getting ready for this baby to arrive!

I am totally on board with the passing time by crying. My DH and I were late to meet my family two days ago because I broke down just before it was time to go. He was all worried asking what was wrong. I said nothing I just had some tears that needed to come out. I don't cry a lot normally but have had a good sob fest at least every other day. The worst is when they threw me a surprize baby shower/going away party at work, I have never cried at work and I wept for almost 30 minutes in front of half the office!
