Who attends this? Is this open to aspiring midwives? What kind of sessions are to be offered? What are the costs? Anyone here know, or should I just e-mail someone from the trustbirth site and ask?

It is open to everyone interested. We are still working out the details on the session topics and the costs. I am the conference coordinator, so feel free to email me at earthbirth@gmail.com .

I'm going to sub because I would love to go, it's a longshot with travel expenses, but I'll try to come, it would be great and great to meet the others on here!

Thanks, Lennon, for the info!

im hoping to be there....yipee, I will be traveling alone from WA and would like to find someone to go in a room with.

I'd love to go. Problem is that I've been told several times that the "spaces" will probably sell out by july, or October at the latest, and I certainly won't know until tax time whether I can afford it or not. We just have too many expenses right now for me to even be able to "save up" for a flight across the country and then a hotel stay AND conference registration...I'm crossing my fingers that my husband's company sells sooner rather than later, and that his retention bonus will be paid out later this summer. IF that happens, I'll be able to come. If not...tax time, it all hinges on tax time. And apparently that may be too late.

I hope you do another one soon after that, Lennon, and maybe this time in Chicago, or somewhere kind of central like that...so that none of us have to travel COMPLETELY across the country? :

I'm planning to be there. If I'm lucky I'll be 8 or 9 months pregnant at the time.

Man, I WISH I could be there. Sounds so awesome. My situation is like Courtenay's.

(btw, this is totally off-topic but the google ad at the bottom of my page when I clicked on this is "Are you John Lennon?")

That is funny! (My parents really thought that when they named me after him that no one would remember who he was anymore when I was an adult.... )

OK, I'm not a birth professional but I'm bumping this to see if anyone is planning to go. I am but I can only afford to if I can find roomies! Anyone?

Thanks!
Lindsey

FYI I'm a two time UC mama, who is not militant and happily supports attended births. Just in case you are wondering what my background is.

PM me and I can maybe help you find a room-mate!
I'm open to rooming with someone - though I do snore (just a warning). I am imagining a great slumber party!!
Yay! I got replies! Reha, I PM'd you. Pamamidwife, I'm cool with snoring if you don't mind my baby. She doesn't fuss much, but it's enough to bother my husband, who's a very light sleeper. Then again, if you snore it's rather unlikely you're a light sleeper.

I will say, though, that I'm trying to find 3 other women to room with to get this as cheap as can be though... so if I find other roomies who are not good with snoring I may not be able to room with you. I hope you aren't offended.... Otherwise we're good.

Love and peace and happy birth conference vibes!
Lindsey

I'm planning on going - we have two women so far in our room, and are looking for 2 more. Wed-Sat night. (Check out sun)

PMed you, Lindsey!
