So, my induction is scheduled for 8am, right? I'd been having contractions on and off all day yesterday, but I woke up this morning at 4am unable to ignore them and go back to sleep. My water broke at 5am.
Since no one ever expected me to go into labor on my own, I was never schooled in the whole "timing contractions" thing. So, I called the hospital to ask what I should do next. The nurse on deck seemed to think I should come in RIGHT NOW. I could probably spit on the front step of the hospital from my yard, so I told her I wasn't exactly panicking yet, I thought I'd take a shower first. So, now it's 6am. I've taken a shower, eaten a little breakfast. I waited as long as I could to wake up dh because he was up half the night having an allergy attack. Now he's showering up. Contractions are steady. And as far as that nurse knows, I'm still in the shower.
...and there goes another one...
We should be on our way in a few minutes. Looks at though baby said "thumbs down" to induction.
