I was emailed this one this morning. Made me want to cheer when the babe got on the nipple and just looked SO satisfied! Makes me teary just thinking about it.

Smalls you beat me to it, I was coming to post this today! Awesome uh?

Loved it! If I had one little quibble, it would be with all of the hands on the baby afterwards, instead of the baby simply being placed on mom, and mom holding the baby. Still though- what an awesome message!

Awesome! I love how you can hear a cheer when the baby latches on and the narrator says, "What a beautiful moment of joy for mother and baby." So true. I was nak'ing while watching and every few minutes my babe would look up, see the nursing baby and go right back to nursing, like "I can do that, too!"

I watched the video. How is this better for baby's health than mom putting baby to breast?

I can't get over how many people were there with the mom and her newborn!

Paula, I think it was just an example of what a non-medicated baby can do if placed skin-to-skin on the mom after birth, instead of the baby being taken away for all kinds of routines and poking done to it.

I love that although the faces were blurred (for privacy I guess) I breast, baby and act of nursing were clear as day!

Dd, 2 was very excited to see the baby nurse! She said nursing is nice for babies with a big smile!

Then she lifted up my shirt and latched on.

i have heard of babies doing this before. i wonder if my nursling would have had less trouble getting into the boobie habit if i had allowed her to do this naturally rather than trying to put her on the breast myself immediately when she was born. it seems like that technique encourages the baby's natural instincts to turn on.

That was very cool. And it was neat when they said that the baby kicking on the mom's belly helps the uterus contract and the placenta be expelled.

My 2 year old LOVES that movie. She keeps asking to watch the baby have milk, like her!

That was great! Awww, the warm fuzzies! My dd is nursing as I type! Boobs are for babies!

Holy mac n cheese! I would NOT want all those people around me right after I gave birth!

Reminds me of my daughters birth, the whole darn family hanging around, baby doing her thing all nonchalant, everyone having to touch the newborn. Seems like no matter where you are people just have to touch the baby! This has already been recorded by researchers about 20 years ago, it is interesting to see just a regular old baby day for a mom, she doesn't seem all weirded out by everybody hanging out which is good since she wont have let down problems in public!

If she is comfortable with all of the people around, more power to her! Everyone is different when it comes to that. Personally, I cant see myself being okay with that, but my little sister is. She has invited about 10 people to the birth of her baby.

Wow that is just awesome! Very beautiful.

Thanks for sharing that...made me cry!

And, it's interesting to see lactivist messages from other countries.

Did anyone catch the point about the baby picking up good germs from mom's skin with the skin to skin contact?

yeah that.

my first nursling was forced and coerced and had her head smashed into me, this seems like it would have been a much nicer way.

oh and i totlally cheered when the baby latched on
