Beautiful!

We did something like that.
I had seen a similar video in both a BFing class and in my childbirth class.
DD came out and I pulled her onto my abdomen/chest- with the midwife's help. She scooted up, rooted around and within about 15-20 minutes she was latched on.
DD spent 2 hours on my chest snuggled in and nursing before I got up after birth. DH didn't get to hold her until then either.

But for those ladies who had issues- I had blisters on my nips when I got up after those first 2 hours. We had a few rocky months with latching and thrush, so even getting them on like that right away might not have solved those issues! It was nice, though.

I saw this in someone's siggy and had to see if it was what I thought it is. THe video is not working right now, however, from responses, I think it is what I have seen before. There is a wonderful video of this that was made some years ago. It shows a medicated baby trying to get to the breast as well. It made it, it just took a lot longer. The unmediated baby took about 20 minutes. There's a c/s baby too and it made it as well, it just took a while. I beleive that any baby is capable of tihs, even if it is not right away. I wanted to do this with my last birth but it was a waterbirth and incredibly fast, everything whirlwinding afterwards, so it went by the wayside. Maybe next time.

Thanks for sharing!

How cute was that baby? Pausing and looking around and then munching away. I want to show it to my nursling and see what she does.

As far as having that huge crowd in the room--in the Youtube comments someone explained it was filmed as part of a workshop and the mother agreed to it.

Wow, so beautiful! It really proves how truly natural and lovely BF'ing is!! I wonder if I could get away with putting it on MySpace...
