Best substitute for coconut oil

Thread Starter
My daughter is allergic to coconut. REALLY allergic, we had to get it completely out of the house because even trace amounts were bothering her.

What would be the next best oil to use for baking, frying, good fats, etc?

We often use ghee but I don't always have that ready-made cause Im a bit of a slacker. Id love a bottle of something that I can just buy and grab when need be.

We use Purity Farms ghee, it's organic and grass fed.

Also Spectrum Organics palm oil shortening.

My DS is super allergic to coconut too.

My DD's allergic/intolerant to CO, too. We mostly use ghee, but we've also used EVOO, palm oil, and rice bran oil.

Lots of cookie cream and rich things like that seem to use palm oil. I am interested in using that myself if I could find a good source.

That's very processed palm oil. Tropical Traditions sells a good virgin palm oil, and they also sell palm shortening.

My butcher thought I was crazy when I asked about lard from cows. She explained that lard is rendered pig fat; tallow is rendered cow fat
