organic solutions book for garden

I just bought a book called "Great Garden Formulas", published by Rodale Press, used from Amazon.com.
It's wonderful. It has organic formulas for fertilizers, pest repellants, animal repellants, weed solutions, compost, etc....
I found it first through our library and then decided to order a used copy, which turns out to look like new.

I really didn't want an overall gardening book, so this fit my needs perfectly.

Haven't seen that exact book, but was a subscriber to Rodale's Organic Gardening magazine for years ---- loved it. I learned a lot and never use any chemicals anymore and just don't have any problems w/ bugs, weeds either.
Finally had to discontinue the mag due to toddler, but wonder if you would like it too?
It has sections in it for every part of North America, so I always felt like my region was being addressed. And has a political side as well, which I always enjoyed and am sure others may not.

and, duh, just noticed you were from MN too. So of course you know all about why we need our specific region addressed! (especially this a.m., 6 degrees, brrrrr!)

I probably would love the magazine, but I hate the thought of letting even more paper enter my house. I'm also trying to curb my natural spending impulses :

What happened to our early spring anyway?
I get my regional input from Northern Gardener magazine, but I sure wish they were more organically inclined. They tend to recommend all of the chemicals for pest/weed control, which I ignore. Besides being toxic, it's way too much trouble.
