We had our baby! Updated with birth story

Lewis Gary was born at 12:30pm. He weighs 7 lbs and is 19 1/2 in long.

He was born at home in the water. I'll post more later.

Well, I will try this again. I started the story earlier, but something came up and never got it done. Lewis has been fed and changed now and I have about an hour before the inlaws are coming with supper.

Wednesday my body cleaned itself out all day, plus I had a lot of mucous. Thursday morning when I went to wake DH up for work I thought I'd peed. I've never done that before. Went to the bathroom and I had a TON more mucous. I think it was the last of my mucous plug. This was before 6 am. Then at 8 am when I was trying to get a nap in, I woke to pretty strong contractions. They never got very regular in time, but they just got stronger. They never got too regular with my DD either. A little before 9 when I went to the bathroom, I had another BM and a bunch of blood. I took my shower and shaved my legs. Got out and DD woke up. Fed and dressed her. Did up the dishes and at 9:30 all the midwife to let her know what was happening. She said to call back in a half hour and let her know if I want her to come. As of Monday I was already dialated 5 cm and 85% effaced. I called my DH at little before 10, he told me that he was coming home and to call the midwife and get her on her way. My whole labor with DD was only 3 hrs and 15 min. Then I called my MIL about getting DD. She was bringing SIL to get senior pics done. SIL was the other person I was going to have come get DD. But, I had asked the neighbor if she could watch DD until someone could come, if I went fast again, so I brought DD over there. Came home and started setting up the pool. DH got home, showered and finnished filling the pool. Midwife got there and set up. I wandered around the whole time doing laundry and whatever I could find to do. I don't like being watched and it was not fun when I did sit so the midwife could get the heartbeat. Oh, I bled a lot this whole time. Everytime I'd have a contraction I could feel blood gushing so I'd sit on the toilet. I got in the pool at 11:30 am and that's when my labor got intense. Lewis was born at 12:29 pm. The hardest part was pushing. With DD they gave me an epis. plus her head was smaller. Lewis's head was 13 1/4. DD's was 12 1/2. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the midwife said that she now fully understands why the dr did an epis on me last time. Something about my perineal being the longest ? she's ever seen, plus the hole for baby didn't stretch. She had to push down there as the head was coming to get Lewis's head through. BUT...I didn't tear!! At the time I just wanted him out of him and I didn't care, but I'm sure glad I didn't now. I feel great because of it.

He nurses GREAT!!! After his first latch on after birth he slept till 10 pm. Then....he was up all night nursing pretty much every 10 min for only 5 min. So for the lack of sleep, my milk came in this morning. During the day now when he's nursed it's been longer and then he's slept longer too. I'm hoping tonight goes better.
