Yay, the board is up. Introductions?

I'll hit 40 weeks in February, but doubt I'll birth until March. I've been waiting for this board to be up.

I've got three little boys, ages 10, 8 and 6. The first two were born in the hospital, and it was in both cases a terrible and damaging experience. My third was born at home UC, which was perfect. This one will be born at home, with or without a Midwife. I'm going to start interviewing soon to see if I can find one that clicks. I loved UCing, but do have long difficult births, so I kind of want another adult around. My husband will be in Iraq for this birth, so I think my best bet to have someone trusting in the birth process, to be with me, will be to hire a MW, if I can find the right one.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi! I'm so excited this board is up now! I'm about 5 weeks today! This will be my 4th baby. I have a son who is 8, a daughter who is 3 and another son who is 1 (will be 2 in a couple of weeks!). All of my births have been in a hospital with an ob. This time around I'm going with a group of midwives and am very excited about it! I can't wait to meet other mamas that pop up on this board in the next few weeks!

I'm due March 2nd, but if I have a similar pregnancy to my first, I may deliver in Feb. I have one 19 mo DD, and I am deciding between a homebirth or a birth center.
I'm very excited, and I have a feeling it's a boy this time. Of course, you never know. I don't think we'll have any ultrasounds this time, so it will probably be a surprise.

Hello to all of you!!!

Hi I am due March 5 or 6th per the calculators I have used .. but I had my last DS 6 1/2 weeks early .. I want this one to stay in till at least late Feb or his/her due date though .. My first is Isaac he is almost 16 months old. I am excited and plan to use a midwife this time around too. My pregnancy last time was uncomplicated till he decided to come early I am sure I will deliver in a hospital but using a midwife and maybe a doula :
It is nice to meet all of you

I'm due March 9th according to my ovulation date. I have not made an appointment with anyone yet, so who knows if they'll adjust my date a bit. This is our first, and the first grandchild (hubby is an only child). I don't know what kind of birth I'll end up having, but I'm going to be making an appointment with a midwife, and will b delivering in a hospital.

I already have a large collection of clothes, slings, cloth dipes, and other baby stuff. I'm so excited! :

Well, I'm due March 8th. I'm making an appointment with my doctor next week. And the week after I'll go to our local home birth association's coffee morning (I went last month, too), and talk to the midwives there. Midwives, by the way, are the norm here, they are usually your primary caregiver (and they are free!), unless you chose to pay for an obstetrician.
This is our first child, and I would really like a home birth. We have also decided that, unless there is a suspicion that something is actually wrong, we won't have any scans.

I can't wait to do it all, "for real", co-sleeping, baby-wearing, bonding, breast-feeding!

I am due March 7th. YAY! This will be my 3rd child (4th pregnancy..one m/c inbetween my girls ). I have 2 girls (ages 5 and 2.5.....will be 6 and 3 when the baby is born

I will probably give birth in a hospital. I have had 2 natural hospital births and live in a state where it is illegal for a midwife to attend a homebirth. Don't feel called towards UC.

I'm due March 8th. I have a boy who just turned 2 who is going to be thrilled to have a baby in the house (he loves babies). I'm having another midwife attended homebirth, though the midwife wasn't at my house very long before my son was born. I'd love to UC since I did my first birth almost completely by myself, but I developed PIH last pregnancy and also have hypothyroidism due to treated Graves' Disease so I feel like I have too much medical stuff that needs to be looked after to UC. We don't do anything that isn't medically necessary, so no tests, not u/s, etc unless there is a reason I need one. I'm excited to feel the baby moving around inside of me and seeing my stomach move again. I'm really excited to breastfeed a newborn again and to use all my baby carriers!

I'm actually a late-Feb DDCer but I thought I'd drop in and say HI!, since I'm really just as likely to give birth in March as in February.

I've got a 3yo DD who will turn 4yo on March 6th - this babe is due March 5th! I will have my family practice doc as my caregiver (he's awesome - his philosophy is he gives the information and it is the patient's choice as to what to do with it). I'll have a repeat cx due to physical issues (not pregnancy related) so babe will probably come a week or so early.

My edd is March 1, so really baby could come in either February or March. My ds was born the day after his edd (although I went into labor on the morning of his edd).

I'm still a little shocked to be pregnant after only 3 cycles of ttc, since it took us 7 years to conceive our first child!

With my ds I planned a homebirth but ended up transferring. I'd like to plan a homebirth again but my midwife retired so I still have to look into my available options.

Hi there!

I should probably be due in ealry March but I'm not sure yet. All I know is that I concieved this little bean on June 8th so I guess I'll find out when i see a midwife. I am hoping for a VBAC this time around. When i was pregnant with Alayna (16 months), she turned breach at 37 weeks. I'm have an interview with a midwife in 2 weeks that does homebirth VBAC's so I am PRAYING that it'll work out this time.

I'm lookig forward to the next 9 months with you all!

Hi! I'm Betsy and am due sometime around Mar 6. I have a nearly 27 month old son and am so excited about our family's new little addition! (and a bit nervous about having a second one too).
I think I want to birth at our local birthing center. I need to do a tour and decide. Glad to meet you all!

Hi! I am expecting my second child on March 8th, based on my ovulation date. I am very excited & nervous. My daughter's birth was in a hospital with an OB and it was a terrible experience. I would love to use a midwife this time and aim for a natural birth. Unfortunately, the cost of a midwife where I live is usually over $2000.00 which is not exactly doable considering an OB is free. We will see what happens though, I may end up paying that much!

Good to see at least one other person on baby #5! I am due 3/13 which is oddly the same edd as my first child. I will likely have an earlier March or Feb. baby as I tend to do. This will be my 3rd homebirth with a midwife, my first 2 were hospital births. Homebirth here is also about $2000 and a hospital birth here would be almost free with our ins., but the difference in service is MORE than worth the sacrifice (for us) to pay out of pocket for our hb. My initially reluctant husband wouldn't have it any other way either.

Can't wait to get to know all of you better in the upcoming months!

Hi all! I'm Michele, and my edd is Feb 29/March 1-ish. This will be my second child, my DS in 20 months old now. I'm totally excited to be expecting a new little one, and hope to birth in a more natural environment as I previously had an induced hospital birth. I'll be cloth diapering from the beginning this time and am having the greatest time putting together tiny diapers for my NB! Yay for us!

Congratulations, everyone! We're expecting our third baby around March 8th and are so excited! Our son will be 5 in August and our daughter is 26 months.

With our first, I had a hospital birth with an OB. With our second, I delivered at the hospital with a midwife. Unfortunately, my midwife practice closed this spring (my region of the country is NOT midwife friendly at all) so I am going to visit the few remaining practices in the region next week. I definitely want to have our baby at a birth center or perhaps at home.

Hello everyone! I'm due March 9 and already mama to a March 2006 baby. Dh is a SAHD and we're both over the moon about pregnancy.

It's possible the new baby may be born in late February - my first was 10 days early. But I'm not making any assumptions!

We had a UC transfer with our first and are considering all our options this time around (except I think I'd like to stay as far away from an OB as possible, barring absolute medical necessity/emergency!).

I found out yesterday evening and have been furiously trying to make an appointment this morning so that I can get progesterone suppositories. I believe it's the only reason we got to keep dd after 3 m/c. So someone get me a prescription-happy doc to do what needs to be done!
