ECOS unscented detergent making clothes super stinky!

Has anyone had this problem? Sometimes our clothes washed in unscented (free 'n clear) ECOS smell awful... I don't know how to describe it... they just smell like butt! It ruins the whole load and we haven't been able to figure out why this happens. Just curious if others have had this problem too?

nope - that is so wierd! I absolutely love Ecos detergent. not sure if i have the free and clear tho. But don't they only make one kind? I think the clothing gets super clean and it gets out dirt better than say 7th Gen. And I think it gives them a very subtle earthy scent. Maybe that scent is what gets to you?

they used to make another scent or two... we've been using the free and clear for a while now, so i don't know if they still carry the other kind. usually i'm really happy with the detergent. this stink happens probably two times a year, and we can't trace the cause. very strange. oh well!

trader joes carry the lily and magnolia scent.
I have to say though,I can't stand ecos detergent.I used to use the lavender one and not only did my clothes smell very off,my whites came out dingy and it left spots on my darks:
not a good experience for me
