Need help with carpets

We have some light colored carpet that gets ruined so easily. There's those little "grey" dots everywhere from old spilled stuff. I have tried baking soda and vinegar and it only helps some. I once heard someone mention Dr Bronners? How would I do that. We can't afford to rent a steam cleaner so is there anything around the home that could get this kind of job done?

Thanks!

You can rent a steam cleaner from Kroger or Publix for $20 if you don't want to purchase one.

I use oxygen bleach (OxiClean is readily available for me) for carpets. It gets all stains out.

Is the Oxyclean "safe"?

I have the same problem and the best cleaner I have found is Sol-u-mel from Melaleuca.

There have been times that I spray the solution and then come back to clean it and I have to feel for the wet spot to find where the stain was.
