playing with beeswax~how to start?

the beeswax i picked up for my kids didn't come with any instructions and i'm not sure how to get it to a moldable (sp?) consistency. it's the flake type. i understand that i need to melt it, but what happens next? i guess it needs to sit a while before it can be handled? and then what? do i need to heat it each time we want to play/work with it? hope these aren't silly questions...thanks for any and all help!

I just asked the same question (kinda) on the Waldorf thread. I have heard that once you get it into a ball form that the warmth of your hands warms it so you can mold it. Never heard of the flakes! Hopefully somebody can help!

LOL!! Ahhh..live and learn, huh? I bought some wool and use it for everything from stuffing dolls to putting beards on gnomes. I have no idea if that's what you're supposed to do (what's the difference between magic wool and wool stuffing? ). We'll get there.
