Do teachers' kids go free?

I just heard about a Montessori teaching position open locally. I'd love to take it IF it means DS can come along with me. They haven't completely gotten that umbilical thing quite all the way severed yet.

I imagine it is different everywhere, but I know at DD's school all of the teachers and teacher's aids have little family members going there, whether it is their kids or nieces/nephews.

Just a quick update. I had my interview with the owner of the Montessori school for an aide position. Turns out the job is only part time, about 22 hours a week. And for that, she offers NO discount on tuition for DS. The only slight perk is that she'd deduct his tuition from my pay before taxes. I'd end up taking home about $75 a week.

Guess who's NOT going to Montessori school after all.

Sorry to hear about that! Keep looking if you have other schools in your area. Many offer free tuition for one child or a general discount.

I am fairly certain our school does not offer discounts for the employees. Most of these schools are so small and by time they pay staff and bills little to no extra money is being made.

I am pretty sure that there are tuition discounts for all the staff at DD's school. I'm sorry they don't offer that at the school you were looking at.

Our Montessori doesn't give discounts to their staff either. But for 5 day a week preprimary, it's less thatn $350/month, which is about 1/4 the price it was back in Philly, so I think the cheapness of the school makes up for it.
