I posted it in the UC forum but I wanted to share it with you guys too.

Extra thanks to everyone who participated in the bead swap, I'm wearing the necklace I made and trying to figure out how many of you already had your babies

my son is visiting his Mimi (MIL) and DH is snoozin...I'm playing with the camera and trying to get a hang of this nak thing again,

what a beautiful day to have a baby! (I still consider myself a July momma, I know I never posted that frequently but I read all the weekly threads and most of the other posts too )

Wow, that sounds amazing!! Congratulations!

(BTW, that's my dream birth, but I'm not sure that I can get dh to go for it, so we'll probably call the midwife. )

You know what? I normally don't enjoy birth stories, but I really, really enjoyed reading yours. What a wonderful, peaceful way to welcome your new family member. Congratulations, mama!

Congratulations prensa!

I keep feeling like I don't want anyone else there, though I would like to have the midwife for cleanup duty. How did you guys handle that?

to be honest there was not that much mess, just the one blanket that got soaked with the fluid. there was no blood until after the placenta came out and I caught most of that on an old red towel. So there's a load or two of laundry to do and I haven't decided yet whether to just toss the blanket and towel...but other than that, DH put the shower curtain liner in the trash and the mattress back in the spare bedroom and that was it!

I bought a pack of chux pads from the drug store but I never had a chance to get them out...once I laid down I was not interested in getting up again. I know I got up once to pee and grab my water and the phone to call DH and that was about all the moving about I could handle, I'm not a walker/swayer during labor, I like to just lie there in more or less the bradley position and try to keep my legs and butt relaxed.

I'm pretty sore today though, my shoulders, arms, thighs and back feel like I went to the gym or something!

thanks everybody!
