Sort of tangent: CO toothpaste

What proportions do you use for toothpaste? Do you make it up in advance? Also, what salt do you use--refined stuff or the good stuff? I'm looking for a better toothpaste alternative and am trying to incorporate CO into skincare, so this goes right along with that!
Well, my toothpaste is messy and not very elegant.

I use unrefined sea salt and cinnamon. (I got this combination from traditional herbalist, who says this combo is supposed to help with whitening, and my teeth aren't any yellower, not sure if they are whiter though) I use equal parts sea salt and cinnamon, I put it in my spice grinder to get them really powdery and evenly distributed. I put that in a glass jar and add a few drops of peppermint essential oil and few less drops of rosemary e.o. and sometime tea tree. (because I like that combo--use what you like) Then I shake shake shake and open and taste. I add more e.o. if needed, then shake again or if no more is needed, I put the whole mixture into a salt shaker with a plastic top and with a few kernals of white rice in it to prevent clumping. I put that in my medicine cabinet.

I have a separate jar of virgin coconut oil also in my bathroom. I take a fingerful, put that in my left hand, then shake the salt mixture on top. Then I scoop it all up with my toothbrush and brush. I then wash off my hand while brushing.

I have not combined them because in the winter the CO is so hard, I thought it would be hard to sqeeze, and I haven't found a squeeze tube for it all. Plus, I don't want to dip my toothbrush into a jar to get it out, I'd rather my clean finger, but that's just me. Maybe it's no difference.

I do find I have to clean my sink out more often because of the cinnamon, which you could totally use just sea salt. But I LOVE this toothpaste. It's clean, low tech and cheap. You don't even need the essential oils, but I like feeling decadently minty fresh!

Also, a little goes a long way with this!

HTH!

I love co in my tea! I also like to use it in chocolate brownies and in popcorn!

Interesting, mm, how do you put it on your popcorn? After it's popped, or do you pop it in co? And for brownies, do you replace the cooking oil with co?

TIA

I don't know what it has done for me as I am a human train wreck...but I take 3 tbsp of co daily. I mix it into raw milk. I don't like the taste plain - melted or in solid form.

Oh yes, I am also using it in conjunction with my dd's systemic yeast protocol. It is supposed to be excellent at helping the body rid itself of yeast.
