The Brewer diet (www.blueribbonbaby.org) recommends 80-100 grams a day...

I don't know exactly where my daughter found her information (she's a research hound who is working on her personal trainer certificate) but she seems to think I can eat all I want. I normally restrict it for the benefit of my kidneys and I LOVE edamame, tofu, etc. and dd hasn't said a thing about how much I've been eating lately.

I'm sure it is possible to eat too much and that it's not good if you wind up not eating enough leafy greens because you're too stuffed with beans, but within reason you should be fine.

MDCer Cathe Olson's Vegetarian Mother's Cookbook recommends 71 g a day.
