I bought ds the Safeguard Go booster seat.

http://www.safeguardseat.com/go/index.htm

He is 4.5 and 37.5 lbs. I am just sooo not confortable putting him in a booster.

How have you liked these seat. Do you have any bad reviews on it? I love it so far but just wondering about everyone else?

Bummer, it requires a tether so we can't use it.
My dd with be in her Marathon for at least one more year but I guess we'll have to go with the Regent. (At least dh is totally on board so we'll just bite the bullet on the cost.)
I'll check out responses in case we get another car.

yeah that is the downfall. The back is kinda floppy and it ues the car headrest.

I looked at the Regeant but we are flying tomorrow and there was no way I could travel with it and two boys alone. It is massive. LOL.
Lcukily everyone we woll be riding with has at least one tether and ds2 is still rear facing so he wont need the tether

I would post this in the childhood years and you might get better results.

Well...it is a decent choice, but I don't think it will be very good in YOUR situation, because the top slots are only at like 17 inches.....which is going to be about what the majority of 4.5 year olds are growing out of....unless he is super-short with a short torso. So, after a torso height of 17 inches, you have to use it as a booster.
If you are looking for a harnessed seat that has top slots above 17 inches, and harnesses over 40 pounds, the options are fairly limited.
Regent, Apex(careful with this one, some have 17 in slots, some have 19), Safeguard seat (not the GO), the new recaros, which won't be out until later this year, the Radians, the FPSV is on clearance half off right now - top slots are 17.5 and limit is 55 pounds, great deal for $90! The britax convertibles go to 17.5 inches also, but with $200-300 price tags and your child likely VERY close to outgrowing them....prolly not a good option either.
Honestly, the radian 65 and regent are really the best choices, unless you can find a Apex with 19 inch slots.

We have the Cosco Apex 65 also called Alpha Elite Apex Booster. I love that it is a 5 point harness and will hold our son up to 100lbs. The only thing that I have found with it that bothers me, is the headrest of the carseat needs the support of the headrest of the car. Other than that, it's a great seat!
