EPO ? for a friend....Update

I told a friend of mine I would ask here before she did anything...

She is 9 days over based on conception date (they only BD'd once during the month of conception.....) and is 4cm and 90% and has been like that for a few weeks....and IS MORE THAN READY to have her little girl.......

She was doing the EPO but stopped bc it's so expensive......WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE.....??? I would like to start using it when the time comes but can't afford to.....at $32/bottle at my local vitamin store.....: (the $32 is for 1300mg/240 gels)

She is reluctant to try nipple stim bc it brought the contractions too fast and too hard last time......

Any other suggestions??????

And she has read about borage oil being similar to epo...is this in fact true???
It's about 1/2 the price of the EPO.....

Thanks. I told her not to buy anything today until I checked here first....

If she's already making progress than she doesn't need the EPO to ripen her cervix.

I'd question whether or not there is something going on mentally or emotionally. Then have her spend time relaxing, talking to Baby, spending time with her dh, etc.

Thanks...she just thought it wouldn't hurt since's she's already there but has been there for a few weeks (almost 4) and she's just ready......she's super hot, super uncomfortable, isn't eating much bc she gets full now after 2 or 3 bites but is drinking and keeping hydrated......she's just chillin out.....waiting and waiting and nothing is going on.......

I feel for her..I was that way with my first but ended up going in for an induction bc I was a day before 42 and dd still didnt want to come after my water breaking and everything else we did.....

I'm ready for mine to come now and I have 8 weeks left...

I don't know what her plans are in regards to birth, but I would strongly encourage her to try nipple stimulation if she plans on (or is cornered into) induction. I know they bring on strong and intense contractions, but that is what she is going to need to get that baby out (and nipple stim contx are for sure better than pitocin contx).

Or, she could just wait for labor to start....because it will. She isn't considered technically postdates until 42 weeks even, so she isn't even "late" yet....(although I am sure she is plenty ready to have her baby!). I have seen lots of women walk around at 4-5 cm for a week or 2. Labor will start!

I think she may go that route if they try to corner her into PIT.....shes just more than ready bc she's been walking around like that for almost a month, baby won't turn so it's still posterier and she just can't walk....just ready....Hopefully within the next day or two
