I look like an elephant in my new maternity bathing suit. - Page 2

I have this bikini that is like all strings. It ties at the back, neck, and both sides. It's almost impossible to totally outgrow it. The triangles are definitely smaller than optimal now, no question!

Oops, sorry, just had a vision of my big butt in a bikini When hell freezes over...

I just ordered a tankini from Motherhood and I am waiting to see what it look like. I am only going to be taking DS swimming in my mom's pool, so I won't feel too self concious...as far as anywhere else...ummm I think not.

: except for me it's my boobs! Seriously, I'm wondering how I'll be able to sling a newborn when I can barely harness my own 2 torpedos.

I am HUGE now (not all belly). I guess I will see if my post-partum suit works.
: What a visual!!!

I wore my tnakini again today for the first time n about 2 weeks. It comes almost to my belly button!

Everyone who saw me (former coworkers at the health club I used to work at) smiled and said I was so cute! I told them, "I'm embarrassed! I cna't believe this much of my belly shows!!" They told me I look cute. One girl told me she just wore her regular bikini her whole pregnancy! I felt a little less self conscious.

YumaDoula, you crack me up!

I actually had my mat. suit on yesterday at the pool. The adults in the crowd didn't seem to notice me, but the kids - seeing their eyes bugging out was pretty funny!

Okay so post-partum suit was a no-go! It is a one piece and I couldn't pull the top up past my lower rib cage because my belly got in the way (it is one of those tie around the back of the neck things). So off to Target I went and I got a proper maternity suit, it is kinda cute but I look huge in it. I guess it is a tankini...I'm not sure what those are, but I am guessing that must be what it is.

I wish I had seen candyapplz's post before I went, but I really want to go to the pool tomorrow so I guess it is alright.

When I held up the bottoms for my DH to see we both started cracking up. They are soooooo big, as in the size of couch cushion covers. I'm going to be fighting off all of those hotties trying to pick me up at the pool tomorrow.

Bite me. No seriously, I'm happy for you. My pre-pregnancy bikinis laugh at me. I can hear them. Niether end would fit into them - my butt and boobs have both at least doubled in size. You are a lucky woman.

I love the picture, though! I feel like an elephant most of the time, but whatever! At least I like the bathing suit I look like an elephant in...

So DH and I are going on a day trip to the beach tomorrow for the Fourth. I did a little fashion show and wanted his opinion about which suit looks best. Remember my username during this story, I swim a lot and have a lot of suits. I also tend to double up on old suits when I swim laps so I probably have 10 or more around the house. Anyway. . .

DH thinks that the tankinis look goofy because they don't cover what they should. I tried on two tankinis, two one pieces (one lap suit, one beach suit) and a regular bikini. His vote was for either the regular bikini or a one piece. I think that I'm going to wear the beachy one piece because it has the most coverage. Good to know that DH thinks I look good in a bikini still. Funny that he thought the least flattering was the one I've been swimming laps in for the last couple of months.

the problem with swimsuits in general is that they may come in different sizes, but they aren't made for every body type. Some women are curvaceous..some are larger up top than on the bottom and it doesnt change much when preggers sometimes. For me, i was proportionate though not skinny when i became preggers but now im more bottom heavy because junior is sideways and making me wide and not popping out.

Get whatever you are comfortable in and who cares what anyone else thinks :

I still prefer skinny dipping!

However, this weekend I'm going to meet up with my best friend from college (who is single and HOT, darn her. No kids, no dh, no responsabilities) and we're going to the beach in San Diego. I told her I'll protect her from all the hot guys who want to hit on her -- I'll scare them away
