hi there~ i will be recieving donated breastmilk soon (yeahhhh) but the donor has no clue how to ship, nor do i. i found a simple easy website to explain it but has anyone done this before? i guess im confused how i pay for it. i know i will send the donor a cooler and all that, but then do i estimate how much it will weigh when full and send her the money, or is it c.o.d. or what? the website says to get a few airbills at fed ex. is the airbill a prepaid thing? thanks so much for and help here. the sooner i can figure it out the sooner dd can get off the formula!

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

Send her the cooler.. Have her weigh the breastmilk in the cooler and then figure it out from there is my best guess...
Or ask her how many ounces she is sending to you and what the milk is stored in... I would assume that 2 ounces of breastmilk would weigh 2 ounces on a shipping scale.. You have to factor in a little extra for whatever she is storing it in...
No clue what the airbills are... but when I was moving from California to Arkansas I had to ship my breastmilk.. I used a cheapo styrofoam cooler and I used two blocks of dry ice.. I shipped it overnight with Fed-Ex and paid $80 for shipping!!!! I had WAY TOO MUCH dry ice... One would have been plenty.. The dry ice weighed much more than the breastmilk did... I think it was around 100 or more ounces... shipped in bags but its been a while so I forget exactly.
If at all possible I would just send her the money to buy a cooler instead of worrying about buying one and then shipping... I dont know if she would be willing to go out and purchase it. but many stores (and Im assuming she visits some) would have coolers she could pick up on a day trip
Alas
