laundry soap

I was wondering instead of using Fels Naptha soap, which I can't find locally, if dr. bronner's peppermint bar soap would work too? Also instead of making the soap liquid why not just dry? I was thinking bar soap, borax, washing soda with vinegar in a downy ball? If you use hot water wouldn't this dissolve the soap? Has anyone tried this, if so do you have a recipe? Thanks!

People have posted here that they've used Dr. Bronner's peppermint bar soap and were happy with the results. If you use very hot water to wash, you could use it dry. From my experience with using other bar soaps, it doesn't all dissolve fast enough with warm to moderately hot water. I've even put the shreds into the food processor to get them to find granules and it was still a problem except for hot water.
