Do Live Vacs live in CD's?

Thread Starter
I just recieved used CD's today and my DH freaked out when he saw them. He is VERY concerned that the other owner vac'd their child and the vacs are growing a breeding in the dipes. The same goes for ecoli and other nasty germs. Has anyhow heard of this, and is bleaching the dipes ok, or will they break down the elements in the dipes?

Most vax are made out of modified live and dead virus and these really don't pose a problem obviously if they did you would see people posting about this on the board

Most add a capful of bleach to there FSOT diapers for the first wash and wash HOT

I am new to cding and buying used cd's, and at first I was grossed out about buying used diapers, but I saw everyone else doing it, so I figured it would be okay. I posted to find out how other mama's washed their used diapers, and they said to add a cap full of bleach to the first wash. Some say wash on hot, but the bg's 1.0 can't be washed on hot, so i just soaked them separately in a sink of bleach and water and washed the rest on hot. If your dh is so concerned, remind him about hospital stays, using hotel towels, etc. those are washed on industrial strength hot, but they too had other people's yuckies on them. A little bleach will do the trick and such a small amount, used just for the intial wash won't break them down. Although I have found myself using it after dh has had a virus, just to be sure the germies are killed, kwim? HtH. Also, I read somewhere some form of hepatitus can live out of body for two weeks, so if your dh is really freaked out, just wash them in hot and bleach, and dry them and wait to weeks and do it again, and then put them on your lo, maybe that will calm him. Good luck.

all used diapers i get i treat the same way:
turn up hot water heater all the way and put 1-2 stock pots on to boil.
start the washing machine on a COLD cycle, add 1/8-1/4 cup chlorine bleach when its full i let it aggitate for a minute to make sure the bleach is evenly dilluted.
then add the diapers, let them aggitate for 5-10 minutes. then let them soak for 30 minutes to an hour.
then i let the cycle finish.
then i start a HOT cycle and add the stock pots of boiling water. (and go refil them and put them on to boil again) and add 1-1.5 tbsp of Charlies, it cleans fabrics down to the fiber, and helps break up any ammonia salts and built up detergent the diapers might have had.
when that cycle is done i start another HOT cycle and add the stockpots again. but dont add any detergent, just the water.
when that load is finished i check to see if there are suds in the rinse water, if there are i run warm or hot rinses until they are gone.
then i dry them on the line IN the sun or in the dryer on HOT to kill any heavy duty germies that might have survived the germ killing spree.
