Any one else with Thyroid issues?

My thyroid is fine until I get pregnant, then it goes all crazy. I'm not really sure how many losses I've had because of this, but now that I know I'm pregnant this early I'm so scared that I'm going to lose it before my appointment on Monday.

My thyroid starts acting up as soon as it can and Gah I don't want to let it get out of control. I'm also not into taking PTU again but I guess it is better than having my thyroid mess up the babies or cause me other problems. ...Stupid Thyroid.

Me! I have Graves' Disease, but it's been treated so I'm hypo. In fact I just went to get my blood drawn to check my thyroid levels. It wasn't that big of a deal to manage with my first pregnancy, but I did have my levels checked something like 7 times in 10 months. We pay for all our medical care now, and at $350 a test I'm hoping my levels don't fluctuate as much as they did with #1. We also had a scare with my anti-thyroid antibody levels around 37 weeks, so I had to have a 38 week u/s which really sucked for so many reason. Anyway I agree, stupid thyroid.

My endo said that he thought I had Graves. But would not be able to tell until after I had the baby. My women's center did a blood work up on me for my thyroid 6 months after I had ds (also my post natal check up) and said my thyroid levels were normal. I've not had it checked in almost a year. I'll have them check it monday to make sure it is normal and I'll probably be put as high risk like last time and have it checked once a month. Last time they had me in every 2 weeks to have it checked.

Good luck with your Thyroid.

I am hypothyroid and can only ovulate/conceive if I am taking my thyroid hormone. Also, the times I was so sick that I threw up my meds in my first pregnancy, I start spotting right away, so this time around, I make sure to get my meds down, and if I think there's any chance they came up, I take more.
I take synthroid - yes, I know Armour or other natural methods are "supposed" to be better, but I get MUCH better results with the stupid synthetic stuff, so that's what I use (and it's WAY cheaper, which is a nice side benny for someone with no insurance!)

Good luck!

I take synthroid too. It's worked well for me, so why would I change.

I got my lab results back yesterday, and everything is looking good! I'm hoping my levels stay steady for a while.

I hope all levels stay steady for the whole ride.

I'm scared to get mine checked right now. We are trying to get life insurance and they want my latest test results. I don't want them to get the levels from when I'm pregnant.
