I had ratatouille the other night. zucchini, eggplant, red bell pepper, tomatoes... mmmm. We ate it over whole wheat cous cous.
We used this recipe:

I'm not eating much at all...besides the overwhelming amount of lettuce and spinach from our garden. I can't stand the thought of food. But what worked last time was really light stuff...salads, stir-fry, toasted bread with tomatoes and cheese, light muffins, etc.

Watermelon!!!
My nausea officially started last night. Ugh.

Thanks, Carolynrosa, for the ratatouille recipe! I think I'll try it. We just took our 2 year old to see that movie at the drive in theater last weekend. Cute movie, and boy was the drive in fun!

I'm not sick yet, but all baby seems to want is B&J's Fossil Fuel ice cream and sauteed broccoli rabe. My baby is weird. Is it normal to have cravings this early? Because these are most definitely cravings I'm having.

I have had a rally bad food day-- nothing at all seemed good to me. I ate half a green pepper and some hummus, and immediately got stomach cramps.
Then my husband called and said he wanted some "Wacko brownies" when he got home. So I started making them-- carob, quinoa flour, beans, maple syrup-- and oh my god, it was exactly what I wanted. I licked the spoon, licked the bowl, and then ate a handful of carob chips.

but now i absolutely have to do something with the chicken that's defrosted in the fridge. i have to make myself cook it, even if i don't eat it. no, i mean it. i am not throwing away any more rotted chicken.

Can I have this recipe? Please?:

I haven't been sick (yet) so much as just not had any appetite. I've most been enjoying bowls of fruit/nuts/flax seed with coconut milk poured over. I also made "porcupine balls" and those really hit the spot - beef, onion, salt, brown rice made into balls and baked in tomato sauce.

oh my god, chocolate nummies, you eat like me!!! well, actually, I shouldn't jump to conclusions.... but if you actually have the ingredients for this recipe, plus meat, in your house, I will be totally psyched.
ok-- let me go get the recipe. warning: it's much more complex than the usual things I make.

Wacko Carob Brownies (Type 23)
1. whisk together in a bowl:
2/3 cup carob
1/3 cup quinoa flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp xantham gum (although it probably could use a little more)
1/2 tsp stevia (=one packet)
2. Mix thoroughly in a food processer:
1 can black beans, rinsed
1/2 cup spectrum spread
2/3 cup maple syrup (the recipe calls for agave, but i wanted maple)
2 tsp vanilla
2.5. I added some carob chips here.
3. Pour and mix the wet ingredients into the dry.
4. Bake in a 9x9 pan at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

Let me know if you make it!

I don't have everything but I'm familiar with them all/have used them before. To make them all right now I'd have to substitute for a couple of things . I plan on making them soon but we (okay mostly me : ) just finished some brownies off but I don't bake sweets all that often. We ate vegetarian for quite a while but have recently started incorporating some locally sold grass-fed beef into our diet.

Thanks for the recipe, btw.

When I'm on the go and feeling a little bit quesy, I like to eat a Fruitabo Fruit Leather. They have no added sugar, they're just real fruit and fruit juice, also 100% organic. I carry a few in my purse and it seems to take the edge off. DD loves them too!
