Nut Allergy? - Page 2

It's my understanding that you don't have to have a nut allergy in the family, any allergy at all (animal, environmental etc.) in the family puts a kid at higher risk. That's the case with my son. I have animal allergies, he has food allergies.

Hi,

I just want to recommend Sunbutter (for mama to eat), which is made from sunflower seeds. I have been eating this regularly w/ no problems for my peanut and tree nut allergic DS who is breastfeeding.

We love our sunbutter! After trying a few nut butter alternatives and having my dd say they tasted "yucky", my oldest son and I stumbled on a sample at TJ's. He picked up the celery and ate it, thinking it was pb! Only after the woman started telling us about it did I realize it was safe for Ellie.

She uses it as dip for apples, on rice cakes, etc. Good stuff!
