I just got out of a shelter this week. I can say it was not home but it was not mats on the floor either. My MOther was also my abuser. I just moved from IL - concerning vaxes - write your own immunization letter and sign it. I did that for the day care. Homefirst medical group can help. I can PM you their phone number or you can look them up on the web. That is where I got the sample letter. I think I have it still too. And if that shelter is full try another one; I had to call 3 before I got one. A wrod about karma: it will all be OK. A week ago I was in my abusive mother's home then in a domestic violence shelter. In the span of two days I have found both a full-time decent payin gjob and an apartment - you willl too...Take care and please PM me if I can help or you need anything.

sometimes those is shelter have access to programs that are only for shelter residents, it can be a great way to have help making your way on your own.

I wouldn't say anything. I would forge the vax card and move on. You don't have to be there forever. And check to see whether your state requires the vax. Some do not and if an organization or school gets ANY SORT of state funding, they have to accept un-vaxed kids by law. to you, mama! Don't freak out and don't allow them to let you waver. You've got this one. You are strong and resourceful.
