Hopefully we haven't had this thread yet ... I didn't scroll through all the posts to see ....

We call this babe "pompui." It's Thai for "chubby" and since we were in Thailand when we conceived, it seems to fit We also happened to be doing three days of elephant training then, and this is our babe's name sake

We've been calling him/her Baby Chicago. Our 2 yr. old ds has been insisting that he's going to have a baby "brudder" and his name MUST be Chicago, lol. We have no idea where he got that from...

I want to train elephants!!!

My husband refers to the baby as "boyname or girlname" (insert our boy/girl names of choice). Sometimes he refers to it is "boyname AND girlname" which always riles me up because I just want one at a time, thanks!! I imagine we'll have a few names before we settle on one, especially once the babe starts moving around.

My prefered name is Septopus right now (it's an inside joke).

I like to call my tummy my love lump, though.

To his/her face, I mostly call him/her by his/her (feminine; only suitable for a girl) post-birth name or a silly shortened version of it that may or may not be too embarassing to actually use after the birth.

Since I'm not really up for having my choice of names either criticized or becoming too trendy (dd thinks it's too popular already), I mostly call him/her "bean" in front of other people.

Right now we're calling the baby The Murp. It's just a made up thing I came up with. I'm not one to have cute pet names for anything. My poor husband has been dubbed Dummie, which is not very cute, unless you know the story*. Anyhow Murp just seemed to fit!

*when my neice was just learning to talk she called my then boyfriend (Adam) Dum, and it stuck. I can't break myself from calling him Dumm or Dummie, and the looks I get in public when I address him as Dummie is rather amusing. And more amusing since I'm Dea and he's Dumm we've been declared the Tweedles by our friends. So once the baby's born I'm sure s/he will be Tweedle Doo....

Our Riblet

Our baby's gender was a surprise for us and during the last trimester she was always right up on my ribcage. Her nickname was "RIBLET"!

I usually refer to the baby as the Little Miracle or Miracle Bean because to my IPs it is their miracle baby and the one they have been waiting years for. And for some reason I inadvertently use male pronouns-I just have had a really strong feeling since day one that this little one is a boy.
