That's great. I have just reintro'd raw milk and butter successfully (it seems), so I look forward to the time that I won't have to be so darn strict!

I will occasionally buy the organic Applegate beef dogs there because they're $4.99 - but it's rare that I buy them. Oh, lately I've been buying the Inca Chips - plantains roasted in palm oil with salt to take to the pool - so yummy & only $1/package (but I can eat a package in less than 2 minutes. )

I also buy organic lemons & limes there & raw almond butter for $5.99 for 16 ounces - I can't afford to pay double for organic almond butter.

I think that's about it....

So glad I found this topic and thread!

I am not perfectly schooled in TF, but I did intern at a goat cheese maker's and they used the Sally Fallon a lot. I conceived while working (and eating) there. The babe is 5.5 mo old now and I'd like to start solids. Will post a new thread with question.

IDEAs:

Cheap breakfast: muesli. Soak rolled oats in your milk in a half gallon ball jar, add nuts/seeds, syrup/honey, raisins, spices. Yum yum.

At the goat farm I used to make oatmeal a lot and flop a soft fried egg onto it, let the yolk ooze onto the porridge.
Also, make a johnny cake of cornmeal and egg fried in lard or coconut oil or butter, iron pan. Very satisfying.
And of course the 3-4 egg omlette with goat cheese was affordable for me and only me.

The key to this eating is cheap local farm eggs as encouraged earlier in the thread.
Read Omnivore's Dilema by Michael Pollan for a nice run down of your Whole Foods eggs: scary! In my crunchy town there are several urban neighborhood houses with chicken runs pecking at compost and dirt -- and a raw milk coop where you only have to do the pick up once every couple months.
Support your local diversified farms and they will support you and your health! Farmers Market is a great place to start that relationship but make it real by creating a larger market for these hardworking people: bring your friends with you to buy right at the farm. If you cut their costs (deliveries, marketing) they can better afford to give you a good deal.
