how far apart in age are your kids? - Page 3

mine are almost exactly 2.5 years apart. I thought between 2-3 years would be perfect so that's what we aimed for...but after #2 was born I wished we had waited longer. Part of that was because both boys are high needs/spirited though. Now though, with them both older they get along so well and I'm really happy with there age difference....but i still don't think it was worth it. I think 3.5 years would have been easier.

Well my DSD and DSS was in my life before I had my first child...When I had her, my stepson was 2.5 and my DSD was almost 6. When I had my 2nd daughter, my 1st daughter was 2 years 4 months, my stepson was 4 years 11 months and my stepdaughter was 8 years 3 months.

My oldest are almost exactly 4 years apart and my girls are only 18 months apart. I was shooting for 2.5-3 years.

1 year 3 days. Pure luck. ds and dd (step) were both technically impossibilities, so we're doubly blessed.

My dd's are almost 12 years apart. Definitely didn't plan such a large age gap. I think mine are too far apart. It was like starting all over again. My oldest dd will be going off to college soon so my youngest dd will almost be like an only child.

This wasn't intentional and it has all worked out in the end.

My kids are 13.5 years apart and it works well for me. Ds is 15 and dd is turning 2 this month and ds positively dotes on his sister and she loves her big brother. I am 8 years older than my only sibling so I knew what I was getting into when i decided on having a large spacing. I am a WOHM so that played a role, I was 19 when ds was born and in the years between I went to college and grad school..

If there is a 3rd child, I'd wait at least another 4 years at this point.. I need me time and having a large gap does make that easier.

My first two are 22 months apart.
The second and third are just under 4 years apart.

I was a little (okay, a lot) depressed when I found out I was pregnant with #3, because the thought of starting all over again just when things were getting easy, was, well, depressing to me.

Now, though, I am quite happy with the spacing. It was hard at first with #1 and #2 because they were so close, but became quite easy once they started to play together. And with #3, the older ones are actually quite a big help.

For me, the hardest spacing would have been 3 years apart; both dd and ds were very challenging at this age.
