I tried nipple stimulation tonight for the first time, and I STILL feel nothing! What gives?

I at least expected to feel a contraction or two but, nope.

I don't want to resort to Castor Oil yet by direction of my midwife, but she said the nipple stimulation was okay.

Is there anything else I can try that doesn't taste horrible and will get something moving?

ummm you could try a long walk, followed by eggplant parmesan with lots of nipple stim, maybe even bust out a pump or have your DP help you out :
you could try taking some EPO and applying it on your cervix, or at least IN the vagina.
another thing that makes me wanna barf just thinking about, is ingesting semen.

Oral or vaginal semen "application"...add nipple stim during "application" works better IMO than either alone ( and it's more fun too!)

raw/fresh pineapple

EPO orally and vaginally

long walk, stair climbing

swinging on a swing (at a playground)

Red Rasp Leaf tea...brew it super strong and drink a lot

Black and blue cohosh...but do this with your midwife's guidance

acupressure points on hand and ankle/lower leg

membrane sweep (with your midwife obviously, she can also apply EPO then)

meditation/visualization of opening and relaxing

Get some rest and stay hydrated...before you know it things will be moving along!

i don't have any more advice for you, but i so know how you feel!!! i am completely anti-inductiton, but i went as far as going in to have my water broken (cervix was very favorable at 4-5cm and 80% effaced) when i was a week overdue. i was just so done with being pg. however, i was running a slight fever so they couldn't even do that to get things moving. btw, having finally labored with my water intact, i'm so glad they couldn't start labor by breaking my water.

i hope it happens so soon for you!!! the wait is so hard!!

If you do end up resorting to Castor Oil, I think I have a palatable way of ingesting it (see my most recent thread). Regardless, I am not looking forward to the experience, but I want to avoid Cervidil induction at the hospital even more.

You've gotten a lot of good suggestions of what to try that's natural. I've eaten tons of eggplant lately with no results. Then again, I tried massage, acupuncture, herbs & a bunch of other stuff & nothing seems to work for me. Maybe the Castor Oil will do it. Good luck & hang in there.
