My water broke Monday morning around 4:15 a.m. Didn't really get any contractions until 5:30 and then I had dh call our friend to come pick up dd. We hung around at home until 7:30 or so before heading to the hospital. I found out why our hospital got an award for Nursing Excellence. Our L&D nurse was absolutely fantastic! She asked me when we checked in if I wanted an epidural and then didn't mention it again (or any other chemical pain relievers) until I'd had enough and asked for one. I told dh that maybe I'm not that crunchy. lol After 3 hours of broken sleep, I just wasn't interested in being tough.
Around 2:00 I got light headed & threw-up ... ah, transition! My OB was watching her son's soccer game, so thanks to the epidural & me being stubborn, I was able to hold off on pushing until she arrived. 3 contractions & 7 pushes later, Thomas was born!
So, Thomas was 3 days early, just like his sister. Labor was 10hours, just like my other, but with 3 contractions of pushing instead of three hours of pushing. I had my own OB instead of the on-call OB. Thomas is a nursing pro, instead of a struggle. I'm totally happy and we're all totally in love.

And the most important part: Everyone loves Thomas; Is that a smile?; Son of Nerds.
