You forget women (99% where I live) give birth in hospital!

This was the converstion I had with dh (who works in a hospital the other day)

DH: I saw X (colleague) today, his wife has had their baby.

Me: Oh lovely. Was he back after his paternity leave?

DH:: No he was visiting his wife.

Me: : Oh! She had the baby in hospital

Dh: Why where would you have a baby?

Me: At home of course.

DH::

Me: Well think how you feel about being in hospital.

DH::Puke

Me: Thats how I feel. So why would I want to give birth in one?

I had a homebirth and loved it! Any other kidlets we may have will be at home too. So not mainstream though.

Awwww... visiting his wife. That would've confused me too! It's hard to think about that. I've just been planning on dh not going back to work for a couple of weeks. He'll be home the whole time. Maybe one day all of us homebirthers will be considered mainstream. Hmmmm.
