Maternity Panties?

Do you guys buy them? Last pregnancy I didn't, and I ended up stretching out all of my underwear. could I get away with just buying a larger size? What do you guys do?

With pg#1, I bought them because I just assumed everyone wore them. That's what they're for, right? Well they really got on my nerves and made me feel worse. With pg #2 & #3, I just wore my regular underwear and pushed them down under my tummy. I think it sounds like a great idea to buy some regular underwear, just a little bigger, so you don't stretch yours out.

I never did. I guess I did stretch out my underwear, but I just wear the el cheapo cotton bikinis that come in 3-packs anyway. They don't work that well under low-rise jeans so maybe after this pregnancy I'll splurge on some nicer panties if I can afford them. The kind I use are pretty much "disposable" and never last more than a year or two anyway, so it's just never been that big of a deal to me.

I really like maternity underpants. As silly as they look, and I hid them from my husband for several months but, they provide great support ( if you are one of the mommies who looks like you're 7 months at 4 months ) and they don't ride up.

Not in your DDD, but I wore Bravado panties! They rock! The sit nice and low BELOW the tummy so you don't have to wear the goofy looking panties with a huge tummy panel. The waistband is nice and wide so it doesn't stretch out funny or dig into your tummy. And the best part? I still wear mine 10 months after baby was born! They've replaced my regular underwear because the thick waistband is so nice and soft and never digs in. Since they sit low they also work well with the low rise pants that are in style.

I ordered some over the tummy underwear last time and hated them. They were always visible through my clothes. I'm just going to buy some good underwear one size up.

I'm not speaking from experience, since I'm not in them yet, this is just repeating what one of my books said...and it sounded like good advice to me.

You can buy bikini cut underwear one size up (or hipsters) since they are already cut to be below your belly. But some people have found maternity underwear to be very comfortable since they give you extra belly support. But, I would imagine maternity underwear differ from brand to brand in cut and materials, etc, like regular underwear do.

My personal favorite underwear is the 5 for $25 deals from Victoria's Secret (even though I hate shopping there.) I love their boy cut shorts the best.

Last time round, I found that stealing my husbands boxer shorts was fantastic. Big, stretchy, comfortable, and great for holding bulky maternity pads in place post-partum.
(DH has tons of boxers, but ALWAYS goes commando- it's not as icky as it sounds. Honest.)

Boxers are GREAT! I have some that ds left here that I may be okay with wearing when I need them. They've actually gone way down in price from when he was a little boy and I was able to switch him from Jockeys by the time he really needed them. He went commando for several years before that, so I don't think he was developed enough for the Jockeys to do any harm when he wore them.

If I have another little boy I will NEVER put him in Jockeys.

I have never purchased special pregnancy undies....I was thinking about getting some of the victoria's secret boy cut 5/25! They look really comfy.

I just wore larger sized string bikinis with my son, plan on doing the same this time, very comfy and non-granny panty at the same time.

I was scraping the bottom of the underwear drawer the other day and found a lacy pair of boy shorts and seriously they were the most comfortable thing I've worn in the past few weeks. I think I'm going to invest in those this time around since they are low cut and super stretchy.

American Eagle sells boy briefs that are SO comfy, I started wearing 'em with my last pg, and I'm still wearing 'em. Plus, no visible panty lines.

I just wear Hanes Her Way bikini cut panties that are like 5 for $5 and they worked for both previous pregnancies as well. They also didn't stretch out much since they sat lower on me.

I bought some during my first pregnancy because I had a lot of swelling early, and it wasn't weight gain. I needed my underpants to stretch in other places than my normal underpants stretch, if you take my meaning.

I still find that those underpants are more comfortable when I'm pregnant, but for the same reason. It's got nothing to do with the belly at all for me; I'm very short, and i discovered years ago that bikinis fit me much more comfortably than any other cut. If I had some cash, I'd definately buy more bikini-cut maternity panties.

Well, I am lurking, because I am pretty sure I am preggered, but not sure of the date yet, but I am loving my Japanese weekend panties(thongs) I got on Ebay last year. Like heaven. They are totally too big for me right now, but oh so comfy.

No way was I going to buy maturnity underwear! I already felt unsexy enough, I just bought a bigger size and they fit fine.

I just bought maternity THONGS : on clearance at Kmart for 90 cents. (Hey, I like a good deal!) The last two pregnancies I didn't wear maternity undies, but when I was at home, I spent a lot of time in sweatpants with no undies at all, because I don't like them digging into my belly. :

My first pregnancy wasn't so bad, but the second one sat SO low that I had a very hard time at the end with regular panties. Since this one is so soon after the last (I had Chloe in February), my abs aren't NEARLY up to par, so I may be carrying my uterus - with my baby in it - around in a little red wagon at about month 8.

I wore my regular undies and they fit fine throughout my pregnancy. I'll do the same this time and hope it works out again.

Here's my confession....

I'm normally commando.

Will there come a time when I need to wear underwear?
