Yes, we have a 4th of July baby GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She still doesn't have a name so we're calling her pumpkin for now. Hopefully in the next few days she'll have a name! Everything happened SO fast. I'll try to give a quick rundown of what happened now and post the more lengthy birth story later....
Around 8pm I started having contractions anywhere from 10-25 minutes apart. NOTHING regular that made me think it was real labor this time. I went for a walk, and they slowed down. At about 11:30pm DH and I dtd in hopes that something would pick up and BOY did it EVER! Just five minutes later I was having contractions right on top of each other with only about a 30 second break between each one. I was hesitant to call the midwives, but dh sort of started freaking out and called my mom to come and the midwives. It was good thing he did too. The contractions didn't let up the whole time until 12:45am when she was born. I thought for sure I would have had some sort of break after transition and this is so NOT what I was used to! My other births were 17 hours and 8 hours! I think I must credit this quick labor to the RRL tea which I drank religously from 31 weeks on. I barely had time to get the tub half full and get in in time to deliver in the water, which was AMAZING compared to being on the floor where I was before that. DH was amazing trying to set up the tub, get me water, push on my back, answer the door and all the many tasks he had to do in that 30 second reprieve I had between contractions! My water never broke and she was born in her sac of waters. It was so strange, like pushing out a balloon, but pretty neat too.
Pumpkin is 7lbs 8oz and 20 1/2 inches long!
