juicing anyone? juicer rec?

I'm thinking about doing some veggie juicing and not sure if I should go with a decent $100 juicer or if I should go ahead and buy the solostar or green star. I have no idea whether I'll like juicing or not, but if I do, I don't want to get stuck with a so so one. What do you think?

the answer to this question really depends on what type of things you like to juice. if you juice mostly things like hard vegetables (carrot, beet, celery, etc.), you might be okay with a centrifugal juicer. we have had an omega 1000 (?) that worked well for juicing those items. some purists say that the nutritional benefits are increased significantly with a masticating juicer. we really like juicing and bought a green star. you can use this to juice wheat grass and lettuce, dandelion greens... almost anything. other friends of ours are very happy with their omega 9001 (?) single auger juicer. personally, i think the omega 9001 (?) is a happy medium and a good deal. the green star takes slightly longer to clean and is a pretty beefy piece of equipment. if you are really serious about juicing, i think the green star is great.

does that help you?

I have a Samson twin gear that I shelled out $400 for. I love it. It's been used quite a bit and was a worthwhile investment. Have you looked on Ebay? Sometimes you can get a good quality used one for less.

Thank you both for responding. Yes, greencrunch what you said makes sense. I did some more research and I'm definitely leaning towards the Omega 8003. I'm not sure I'm ready to pay $400 for the green star, but the Omega 8003 ($200) definitely looks like a happy medium.
Off to do some online shopping!
